Linked in the title is a story about a former sheriff's deputy that was convicted of trespassing.

It seems the day after Terri Schiavo's feeding tube was removed Former Lee County Sheriff John J. McDougall tried to go into the hospice where she was being murdered to give her water.

He could have avoided court if he had paid a $250.00 fine, but he instead insisted on going to trial, insisting that he was NOT trespassing, but instead trying to save a life, something I must point out, that he was trained to do in his job as a deputy from 1988 to 2000.

He has been given 6 months probation, a $600.00 fine and community service for his "crime".

Moral of the story?

Let me begin by saying that polls, like anything that deals with numbers, are extremely subjective. I could go to the local market with a press kit and petition from DHMO.ORG warning people about the dangers of Dihydrogen Monoxide and get signatures left and right.

Polls of course have a major influence, rightly or wrongly, in many of todays decisions made by politicians about things that affect our lives, and as such SHOULD be done in as unbaised of a way as possible.

Unfortunately that is rarely the case, so I tend to look askance at numbers that purport to claim to "know" what the public desires from it's citizens. I could do a poll today that would show that 100% of American college students want Bush impeached, and turn right around and show the complete opposite. It's all about WHERE you conduct the poll and HOW you phrase the question.

So with that in mind let's get on with this shall we???

On May 17 a legal summons was delivered to U.S. and UK embassies in capitals around the world—including Istanbul, Tokyo, Lisbon, and Brussels—on behalf of the World Tribunal on Iraq (WTI). The summons requested the attendance of President Bush and Prime Minister Blair to defend charges that they are in “violation of common values of humanity, international treaties, and international law” for waging war in Iraq.

So there is a worldwide effort of a large group of whiners sticking their nose into international affairs and wanting to put Bush and Blair on trial.

Uh huh.....I see.

While the summons was signed by leading international figures, including international legal scholar Richard Falk and former Assistant UN Secretary General Dennis Halliday, President Bush’s attendance is not anticipated.

So two of the people pushing this assinine idea are a legal scholar, who no doubt believes that we should wait on the UN to tell us when we should defend ourselves, and a FORMER ASSISTANT UN Secretary General.

Folks, if we waited for the UN to do anything besides complain, embezzle and commit pedophilia we would still be waitiing for Saddam to comply and the Lebanese would still be waiting for the Syrians to leave.

Do such efforts, and the broader movement to which they aim to contribute, have any chance of affecting the actions of the United States?

I sure as hell hope not. I certainly don't want the rest of the world affecting how our government does it's job, especially since one of the chief jobs of a government is SUPPOSED to be securing safety and prosperity for it's citizens.

In case anyone else out there hasn't noticed, most of the world doesn't like us much, and every single one of the countries that DOES NOT like us is either heavily socialist, communist leaning or arab and either living under sharia law or heading that way.

When millions of people around the world demonstrated against the U.S. attack on Iraq, Bush referred to it contemptuously as a “focus group.”

Yes, millions of people around the world did protest. Millions of people protest every war that comes along, in fact, there are people that protest everything these days. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to see a group that starts protesting the fact that not enough people are protesting this cause or that issue. I may even start that group myself. We'll call it Attention Seeking Whiny Young Protesters, or ASWYP for short.

In 1967, the British philosopher Bertrand Russell convened the International War Crimes Tribunal. The Tribunal was charged with conducting “a solemn and historic investigation” of U.S. war crimes in Vietnam in order to “prevent the crime of silence.”

Drawing on this tradition, the WTI—composed of lawyers, former parliamentarians and judges, journalists, artists, and victims of U.S. aggression—has held people’s tribunals on multiple continents in order to build “a moral, political, and judicial record that contributes to build a world of peace and justice” as part of a broader campaign to “put an end to impunity enjoyed by the United States and its allies.”

OK, I want you to pay particualr attention to that first paragraph there....go reread it. Done? Good.

A PHILOSOPHER??? What the hell? Are we back in Roman Times where folks that sit around and ponder are wanting power? (I have a philosophy degree, would you like fries with that?)

This new group is composed of "lawyers, former parliamentarians and judges, journalists, artists, and victims of U.S. aggression".....let's look at THAT shall we?

Lawyers: Out looking for a buck, most likely with heavy leftist leanings;

Former Parliamentarians: Lawyers of a different stripe most likely, and probably with an axe to grind and nothing better to do than chase down publicity;

Judges Again, lawyers;

Journalists and artists (lumped together for brevities sake) Both professions are notoriously left wing. Need I say more?

Victims of U.S. "aggression" Talk about a group with an axe to grind;

Yes, we can see that this "esteemed body of "scholars and caring people" are certainly one's that would have the best interests of humanity in mind and not have an anti-American agenda. **COUGHbsCOUGH**

I take particular exception to these next phrases which, yet again, attempt to place Bush et.al. into the same catagory as Hitler:

Just as in 1943 when the Allied troops set up the United Nations War Crimes Commission to act as a repository for war crimes evidence and compile a list of the accused, so the WTI has heard and documented the testimony of victims in Fallujah, archived video footage of journalists, and tracked the command responsibility of Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld.

Bush is NOT Hitler....but the leftists must have some emotional buzzword to create a stigma around Bush's, and the administrations actions, and who better than one of the most evil men of the last century? Do you think it would work as well if they compared him to true empirical figures from history that actually were on Empire building expeditions? People such as Alexander the Great or Napoleon?

By speaking of the Iraq War in terms of Geneva Conventions, human rights treaties, and other aspects of international law, the WTI addresses all those who believe that states must act within legal restraints.

Must the left be constantly reminded that while actual members of Iraq's armed forces did have protections under the Geneva Conventions, those captured under the umbrella of "insurgent, rebel, freedom fighter, terrorist" or any of a dozen other names for those that are not actually IN the armed forces, with a uniform and command structure, are NOT entitled to ONE SINGLE PROTECTION under the GC?

Actually the answer to that question is "Yes, yes they do!!!"

A new and unexpected convergence of forces is developing in the United States around the Bush administration’s contempt for both international law and the U.S. Constitution. It includes not only peace and human rights activists but conservative constitutionalists and retired generals. The WTI offers an opportunity for people around the world to align with these new “legal allies” forming in the United States.

Let me make this one simple people. International law shoudl only be applied to the open sea and trade sanctions. It is this adherence to a false belief that "international law" trumps our founding documents and overrides our laws that gives away our right to secure our future from enemies that would see us destroyed. The UN is NOT our friend, and they most certainly do not have our best interests at heart when making global decisions.

Unlike many other countries that seem more than happy to let the UN run the world and adhere to their slow-moving processes, the U.S. should not hand sovereignty over to this group of America hating despots that would gladly use the UN to "legally" drag us down to the level that most of the rest of the world curreently resides at, in regards to economics and national security issues.

Let me expound on that last sentence.

Many people around the world decry the level of consumption in the U.S., pointing out the amount of resources we use compared to the rest of the world, based on a per capita basis.

First off, we can afford it. And it is our governments job to make certain that we can continue to afford it.

Second, in a dozen or so years, when China is even more of a comsumer and polluter than the U.S., does one really believe for a moment that international opinion will sway the Chinese to curtail their use of resources in the upcoming march for world domination?

Hell no!!!

This gives me pause to wonder that the world, if they were asked which country they would wish to run things if it were between the U.S. and China, would say?

And what about those statistics I was mentioning at the beginning of this rant?

In one poll, about 70% agreed that the primary lesson of September 11 is that the United States needs to cooperate more with other countries to fight terrorism, as opposed to acting more on its own.

That was from a PIPA poll, and when I checked out there site they actually had this story, one part of which read that "France Most Widely Seen as Having a Positive Influence in World.

Do I really need to say anything else about the "polls" and the "stats" that this group is using?

I didn't think so.

Only the left would consider a death a "win".

Gun-totin' liberal, one of the few sensible libs I know, has a different take on it, but doesn't apologize for fighting with his fellow libs over this issue. He says what we were saying. We didn't know enough, so we err on the side of life. I know that simple idea is hard for some of you libs to grasp, but it is there and it is a very simple concept.....I don't understand how such simpletons (G-TL excluded) just can't seem to grasp a simple concept.

Well I don't apologize. We said there were too many questions...and I am still not satisfied with the answers, and most likely never will be. From the fact that mikey schiavo acted like a petulant 4 year old that needed his ass smacked, to the fact that all her parents wanted was to take care of her, and he wouldn't let them, saying he loved terri, girlfriend and kids notwithstanding, this thing stank.

Like I told G-TL, "Sometimes, it is more important to be right with your heart, than right with the law."

Our grandfathers and fathers, the men of the greatest generation, they didn't think that way. They called a bum a bum and didn't let him starve, but neither did he get more than scraps. All this country was founded on has been under assault by the liberals for the last 30+ years, and I will not let it pass unnoticed.

Once we were the envy of the world, and we were envied because of our Freedom and our Strength, not because we were weak and poor.

We were envied despite the fact that at the time, blacks were not treated the same, but we were trying to make it so that they were treated the same, and the world saw that.

We were admired not because we were the richest country, but because anyone could come here and become a richer person, a better person.

We were loved because here, in America, lived paradise....a Land of Milk and Honey, where hard work and the sweat of your brow, intelligence and maybe some luck would make you successful beyond your wildest dreams.

Now, when it is shown that our way, the American Way, works, and continues to work, while the socialism that europe chose does not, while the communism that others had forced upon them does not, while every other system simply pales in comparision to the American Way, we are hated, vilified and despised.

And we are hated, vilified and despised, while being loved, embraced and glorified. We are all of these things to different people. And we are all of these things to so many people because of different reasons.

Envy.

Gratitude.

Cowardice.

Appreciation.

We are both loved and hated, for many reasons, and never forget the glory we once held, and still do, tarnished though it may be, can glow bright again.

America can be that fabled shining city on the hill, but not unless we defeat the enemies within our own country.

JUST. GO. READ. THE. POST!!!!!

My "I met you online" cherry that is. Yes, I went flying around L.A. this weekend, hanging out and getting drunk, on the air, with Brian Travis and my morning show cohort, Da' Guru, catching some great music at a club, and generally having a kick-ass L.A. kinda' weekend. Sunday afternoon I made it out to Crystal Clear Country to finally meet one of our illustrious colleagues at The Wide Awakes.

It was way cool. I only wish we coulda' stayed longer and had a few more beers. (Yes Ogre, you missed out on the beer.) Her Dad was there helping out, but being very camera shy, no pic of him. I sent the rest of the pics on to crystal, so you may even see me posted up there.

Crystal, it was awesome meeting someone so clear thinking and amazing to boot. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality, the beer and the camaraderie (sp?) all around.


I had a great weekend. I shot out to Crystals to say hi and bye and see you someday in Paradise. Someone was a bit camera shy here. Aint they cute?

From Atlanta comes the story of a man wanted for murder in, of all places, Pinellas County Fl.

Wanted in the death of his ex-girlfriend Jennifer L. Gonzalez, 36, whose body was found in a pond behind the apartment complex where she lived, the suspect, Carl Edward Roland, 41, climbed atop the crane on wednesday.

Refusing food and water, Roland is staying atop the crane and has refused a plea from his sister, offers of food and an alternative to climbing down by jumping into airbags deployed by the fire department.

When asked why he was refusing to come down from the crane, he yelled back that if he was going to die a peaceful death by starvation it was going to be at his own choosing at not at the choosing of the Pinellas County judiciary.

Readers may remember that the Pinellas County Sherriff's Dept. laid siege to a hospice in Pinellas Park earlier this year at the order of a judge to stop all attempts at saving Terri Schindler-Schiavo, who was starved to death by the order of Judge George Greer.

Right to die advocates, backed by the ACLU, are gathering to protest against the police attempting to end Rolands attempt to die peacefully, while anti-death penalty forces, backed by the ACLU, have filed suit in Federal Court to end the siege on African-Americans, who are on death row in disproportionate numbers.

When asked about this case, the Spokesman for Gaawwd and the Religious Right, Jerry Falwell said Roland should be stopped from starving himself to death, as suicide is a sin, and instead he should be arrested, charged, and, if found guilty, put to death.

In a parting comment to reporters Falwell said, "Gawwd hates sinners, and among the worst of these are murderers, pedophiles and democrats, so no leniency should be shown to these people for their crimes against man nor their sins against Gawwd, and they should all be put to death as soon as possible. God Bless you all and may his peace be upon you."

This post will highlight one of the inherent evils' of socialism, and it's penchant for deciding what is best for YOUR CHILDREN.

When the state thinks it can raise your child better than you, and when the state tells you what you MUST do with your own child, then you can be sure that Major Indoctrination is occuring....take a look here at the inside lining of that great socialist success story Germany.

It seems in Germany the march towards a completely socialist society, where parents have no rights regarding their own children and the state has the ability to take your kids from you is, well, marching along. Seems those germans are always marching towards one thing or another doesn't it?

The first things that catches one's attention is the fact that three year olds are possibly going to be REQUIRED to attend pre-school. You will take special note of this phrase in the article; "Children would not only become smarter but also healthier because the state would separate pre-school children from their mothers.

Does this surprise you? Are you shocked that in a socialist society the government believes it can do a better job of raising your children that you could? Are you absolutely flabbergasted that in essence, a socialist society only wishes you to have children as a way of giving the state workers to mold to its' ideal?

Damn those useless baby machines. If only they knew HOW to raise a strong healthy worker then the government wouldn't have to separate mothers and their children so young and make the mom go back to work.

O.K., that was sarcastic. But it dooes show that in a socialist country the government doesn't trust you to feed your children correctly, much less raise them well. Two of the names of Americana just about every person in America that isn't living a cloistered life knows are Paul Harvey and Walter Cronkite, or as I like to call them, America's Grandpa's.

Venerable old newscasters that have been around since the early days of broadcasting, these two men have left an indelible mark on journalism and touched countless lives and continue to do so.

You know what I mean when I say America's Grandpa's right? Those fellows that we can picture spinning tales and teaching us about life while we sit at their knee and soak it up. They remind everyone I talk to of their grandpa, or in the least I hear "That is the kind of grandpa I would want."

A man of wisdom, wit and charm, infinitly patient with a quiet dignity and a sparkle in his eye.

First up is Walter Cronkite, since I wish to save my personal favorite for last. Cronkite's place in the Deck Of Weasels notwithstanding he IS an Icon of America.

Now usually I wouldn't write about someone that made the Deck, at least not in a complimentary way, however Cronkite did something that most on the left never do, and that is tell them that the public has no idea what their platform is, exactly. It isn't anything that a lot of us don't tell them everyday that we sit at a keyboard, but it came from someone IN their camp and with the massive cred's that, frankly, most will never have.

Walter Cronkitehas lived a great life, entertaining us and bringing the world into our living rooms back in those days when the only way to know what was going on in the world was to read the paper, listen to the radio or watch the network news, and political views notwithstanding, he is a great American that has the backbone to stand up for what he believes in and isn't afraid to tell those in his party what they are doing wrong, and for these reasons I consider him one of America's Grandpa's.

My personal favorite is Paul Harvey. I was introduced to Paul Harvey when I was very young by my grandpa. I was so young that I don't even remember it. It seems as if I have always listened to Grandpa Harvey regaling us with the news and humorous stories from around the world.

In 1976 he started "The Rest Of The Story", (available in book form) explaining the little known history behind famous people and events, and if you haven't heard Paul tell TROTS in his engaging midwestern accent, then you have missed some of the best recorded tales ever heard.

If you can listen to Paul Harvey and not be absolutely enthralled by his voice, his style and his obvious class and superb wit and humor, if you can hear his broadcast and not feel both a sense of satisfaction and a longing for more at the end of his news stories then you are simply out of your head.

This has been a jesse jackson channeling event.

Two boys involved in a fight with a school bus driver in FL. have been charged with a FELONY!!!

It is the law in FL. that assault on a school official is a felony involving up to five years in juvy, but a security camera on the bus shows the bus driver telling a student to put on his seat belt, (in FL seatbelts are required on busses but wearing them is not mandatory), and when the student refused he told the student to sit in the front of the bus.

When he refused to sit in the front, the bus driver, a substitute BTW, moved to the back of the bus, where he was intercepted by the students older step brother. At this point the driver grabbed the older brother's throat and slapped him, at which point the boy that the bus driver assaulted and his younger brother assaulted him. (legal concerns cause me to use the word assault, but I would have preferred to say they whupped his ass).

Now the seatbelt was not mandatory, and the brothers should not have beaten on the driver, but that driver had no right to touch that student.

Usually I am firmly on the side of discipline, but if my brother was grabbed by the throat by a bus driver I would have taken exception to that and whupped on him also. I had an irate parent grab my throat in front of a school once, and it was only quick intervention by the principal that stopped me from breaking that fat broads nose. In that case I was defending my little brother AND my little sister from her kids.

The kids should be punished, not five years in juvy though.

And the driver?

Considering he is charged with the safe passage of kids to and from school, and grabbing a kid by the throat is nowhere near conducive to safe passage, he should be charged with aggravated assualt on a minor and the book tossed at him.

Seeing how those "end-times" I have heard about since bible school as a kid seem to stick with me like a scene from a movie that burns itself onto your retina and won't let go, awakening you in the middle of the night in a cold sweat I feel I must point this out.

Damn...these are two very successful gay "artists" if this idea has allowed them to bed 400 desperate gay arab men.

So now this begs the question, if they have bedded 400 guys in the quest for "love" to bring peace to the middle east why hasn't it worked after 400 times?

Do they actually think that just because they nail some GaRab that peace will suddenly break out?

As if the leaders in the ME are going to say "Hey, we can't fight you anymore, there are gay isrealis and gay arabs having sex with each other."

These guys are just two of the craftiest fags to ever come down the road with a "sex for art" scheme.

At least straight artists that try to nail rich socialites through their "art" are after money too.

Giving the radical muslims a reason to hate us these days doesn't seem very hard. In fact it gets easier and easier for those in the "Hate America, Hate the West, Kill All Infidels" camp to most days look no further than the American MSM for all the fuel they need to stoke the fires of war.

We all saw the story about Newsweek fomenting chaos and hatred of America with their utterly irresponsible story about alleged abuse of the Koran at Gitmo.


After riots broke out in Afghanistan and other places they retracted the story, admitting that that they used a "knowledgeable government source", who later said that "he could not be certain he had seen the account in the military report and that it might have been in other investigative documents".

The reason I am bringing up what amounts to old news in the "Shadow Media" is this story here from Reuters. It seems the Red Cross has sent reports to the Pentagon about this very thing as early as 2002.

I want to point out some key phrases in that article for those on the other side of the street that have claimed, to me personally, that the source of the Newsweek article was the ICRC and not, as Newsweek acknowledged, a "knowledgeable government source".

"The U.S. government took corrective measures and those allegations have not resurfaced," Schorno said

And this:

Members of the humanitarian organization, which is given access to the prison, did not witness any mishandling of the Koran.

And this next bit,

Former Guantanamo prisoners and lawyers for detainees have for months accused U.S. personnel at Guantanamo of putting the Koran into toilets.

keeping in mind that these are people that are suing the U.S. I want you to think about something here....if you were locked up would you sue? Sure you would. Even if you had to lie about circumstances to do so? Yes you would, so don't even try to lie about it.

If you were captured by our military and held for interrogation and exonerated you would be looking for revenge and a slimy lawyer.

Was this alleged abuse occuring? Maybe, maybe not, and we may never know for sure.

In January 2003, the U.S. military issued guidelines to personnel at the base that included the order: "Ensure that the Koran is not placed in offensive areas such as the floor, near the toilet or sink, near the feet or dirty/wet areas."

As you can see from the above guidelines were issued, but the U.S. military doesn't issue guidelines only on a reactive basis, as I have been told, otherwise new guidelines would constantly be issued in rapid fire succession just to keep up with an ever changing world.

Newsweek has now changed it's sourcing policy and has set up this guideline:

"From now on, only the editor or the managing editor, or other top editors they specifically appoint, will have the authority to sign off on the use of an anonymous source,"

Seems a lot of guidelines are being created after this story, and I need to point out that the U.S. military isn't doing any of it at this time. They set out the new guidleines regarding this issue in Jan. 2003.

Now in Saudi Arabia we have a call from an islamic court for those that have been accused of this crime to be turned over to be tried by them for their crimes against Islam. (Tip o' me tam to our very own Mustang for that link, and Welcome to the Mustang, another great addition to TWA)

Now, maybe I am just not seeing the news on this but I have yet to see one name tossed out anywhere regarding flushing Koran's. Add in the fact that an Islamic Court is making DEMANDS of the U.S. Government as if they actually had any power aside from threatening Jihad on us and it becomes increasing laughable.

The muslim world rarely has a week go by anymore where one Jihad or another is not called for against us, and in fact it is starting to become a Point of Honor amongst some, a bragging right if you will, almost as if having jihad called for against you is a credential of the power of your words and thoughts.

And no, I haven't had a jihad called for against me, but one has hope.

Anyway.

What's the point to this rant?

Just this: The ICRC was NOT the source for the Newsweek crime, (and it is a crime, their irresponsible reporting has caused almost 20 deaths around the globe) and at the end of the day, Newsweek was wrong and if one credible source comes out that proves the Koran was flushed down a toilet at Gitmo not only will I retract this article here, but I will demand a toilet from Gitmo.....I mean really people, any toilet that can handle having a book flushed down it and survive would make a follower of The Rev. Al Bundy like myself drool in anticipation of that kind of Throneal Power.

In an amazing development reversing long standing U.S. government policy an illegal alien, and a criminal at that, ahs been arrested and faces deportation.

Luis Posada Carriles, a Cuban national wanted in Venezuela in connection with the 1976 bombing of a Cuban airliner was taken into custody taken into custody by U.S. immigration officers in Miami on tuesday in Miami.

He admitted to entering the U.S. illegally through Mexico in mid-March and is being held in El Paso TX. until a hearing to determine his fate.

He claims U.S. residency status received during the Cuban Missile Crises in Oct. 1962 was never revoked, therefore he will "vigorously" fight extradition.

An alleged former CIA agent, Carriles claims to be in the country legally and will attempt to seek asylum.

Let me tell you something. This has opened a can of worms for the U.S., as Castro has labelled Carilles a terrorist, and says that Venezuela, or an international tribunal, has jurisdiction to prosecute him.

Granting him asylum would only cause an international furor, as the U.S. government is the first to point out to other countries when they are harboring terrorists.

There will be much more on this story, as I am sure the ACLU will, once again, take up on the side of a terrorist and stand against the values of America.

I don't think we should ship him out. Venezuela is closely allied with Castro, and most of South America has lax border controls and supposedly terrorists are using it as a possible staging area.

Turn him lose in a different third world country and telll the commies south of the border to bugger off.

We are headed to a pitched battle in this country; one that will become even more divisive than slavery was in the mid 19th century.

Now, we are already in the middle of a war, and I am not disparaging the seriousness of slavery, or the evilness of it, but the issue that is going to tear this country in two is Gay Marriage.

I need to clarify what I just wrote. We are in the middle of two wars, the War on Terror, and a culture war. So far the culture war has been somewhat peaceful, especially compared to how ugly it could have gotten without "hate crime legislation".

The added teeth in those laws make it much worse on people that have that nasty proclivity of assaulting other people based on their differences.

If this keeps up a constitutional amendment IS going to be proposed. Whether it would actually be ratified is another story altogether.

But given the left's love of losing and their apparent march into the sunset of history as a viable political party in this country I can see it happening.

As things stand, with the seeming march of the Hildebeast into the front-running candidacy in '08, the left's continued stubbornness to see what they are doing wrong despite their shortcomings being pointed out EVERY SINGLE DAY by countless pundits and pontificators both online and off, and their continued insistence that, regardless of the thrashing they get constantly, they are IN TOUCH with the "average American", they are barreling down the road to extinction.

If they lose anymore power they won't be able to stop the GOP from running roughshod over anything. And that’s just at the federal level.

Imagine if, in a majority of states, the GOP held absolute political power, leaving the Dems swinging in the wind, completely at the whim of the right in this country, having no clout, no say and no power.

That thought alone should make the dems wake up and listen to their harshest critics and change their strategy at this very moment.

For better or worse they aren't likely to do that, and mark these words, in '06 they will lose more power, in '08 even more, and that is when the Gay Marriage Amendment will come to a head (NPI) and this country will divide in a way not seen since the Civil War.

She passed of natural causes. That is better than her being starved to death, which some of you may remember almost happened just a few short weeks ago.

I know some of you are going to say "See? Why did you get up in arms about her before, she just died anyway." and to you I say F**K OFF!!!

By that logic we should just destroy the human race and all of creation since we are all gonna die anyway.

Some people on the left are probably feeling a bit smug about this story today, much like they felt when Terri finally died.

That's fine.

Those same people are probably wringing their hands that people on the other side of the globe are dying in places that our military is stationed and wondering what they can do to stop the Big Bad Evil Bush War Machine.

Those people have very misplaced priorities.

Anyway it seems that some other liberal media type is claiming that the US military is targeting journalists.

After the trouble that newsweek has caused the last week ya' gotta wonder if maybe that wouldn't start to be a good idea. (jk) Or am I?

"They target and kill journalists…uh, from other countries, particularly Arab countries like Al -, like Arab news services like Al-Jazeera, for example. They actually target them and blow up their studios with impunity…"

ACLU Says Silver Ring Thing Violates Federal Rules
Abstinence Program Says It Has Secular Options

NEW YORK -- The American Civil Liberties Union has filed a lawsuit alleging that a taxpayer-supported teen abstinence program improperly promotes Christianity.

"The Silver Ring Thing," which uses music and comedy skits, is an offshoot of the John Guest Evangelistic Team. Since 2003, the program has received more than $1 million in federal grants as part of the Bush administration's initiative to expand abstinence-only education.

Grant recipients aren't supposed to use federal money for religious proselytizing. But the ACLU alleges that the Silver Ring Thing encourages teens to commit themselves to Jesus Christ.

The lawsuit says youths are given the opportunity to divide into secular and religious groups, but are encouraged to choose the religious option and to enroll in a Bible-based follow-up program.

There is a world of difference between "encouraging" someone to do something and making it mandatory.

The ACLU doesn't seem to grasp this concept, and even encouragement now seems to be a problem with them.

Mayhaps it is because the word "courage" is in there and courage is the antithesis of what the ACLU is about. The ACLU is about socialism and secularism, and these two things take no courage and are simply the abandonment of morals and free will.

Giving over your life to the whim of the state, and the path of least resistance of secularism is not only the cowards way out, it is inherently evil.

Socialism detracts from the free will of you and your fellow man. Secularism leads to a society of depravity and causes life to be devalued.

Both of these systems are, in the end, bad for society as a whole, as they ultimately cause society to break down.

When human life is not highly valued you get such things as euthanasia, and when your freedom to better yourself is stolen from you and your fellow man, then you are simply alive to continue the existence of the state.

Over-bearing religion is also evil, as evidenced in the theocracies of the middle east, conversely, a society devoid of religion is also evil, and the ACLU appears to be on a mission to chase religion behind closed doors, much like the communists did in soviet russia.

At the heart of this issue is not the fact that a group attempting to teach abstinance is encouraging children to follow Christianity, but rather that the ACLU apparently sees this encouragement tantmount to encouraging someone to commit a crime, and I am forced to conclude that if the ACLU does indeed see this as a crime, or even appears to see this as a crime, then we have slipped further into the abyss than I had thought.

Further, tax dollars going to faith based groups is allowable by law and demanded by a society that insists on equality.

Once in this country it was shameful to become pregnant before marriage, and to have to go to the free clinic for a shot...promiscuity was frowned upon, at least for women, and divorce was a shameful situation that would cause the perpetrators, at the least, social discomfort, if not outright shunning by their friends.

The ACLU has, for many years, followed a course towards secularism and a socialist agenda, and this is, upon deeper inspection, one more example of it.

It is about time that we take our country back from this path of ultimate destruction.

I wish to point out that what this councilman David Olivas said was wrong, and I will be calling him in the morning.

If this is a first amendment issue then it is a first amendment issue in the same context that a cross on public land is a first amendment issue....someone has named it offensive so it should be taken down.

Those are the rules of the game now aren't they?

Back in the 60's of course we had the free-lovin, STD spreadin' doobie-rollin' tab-droppin' unwashed masses of the hippies, protesting for an end to Viet Nam and the destruction of "The System".

Many of them grew up and joined that system, which is very funny when you think about it. There are slews of them on college campuses across the country teaching our kids about the world. Of course the world the old hippies see is not reality as correct thinking Americans know it. Perhaps things look different after so many joints and so many "trips"...I don't know.

But now there is a slowly growing group in this country that, much like the unwashed masses of the late 60's are also getting tired of the status quo, and they are deciding to get out and do something about it. Unlike the unwashed masses of the 60's this group is different in many ways.

First and foremost, we bathe.

Second is that we are not protesting "The Man" and "The System" but rather illegal immigration.

You have seen this movements beginnings in the Minute Man Project.

Here is how history is going to repeat itself, but this time for the better.

These protests will grow. As they grow the people in power, the very people that we elect, will either listen to us and enforce the laws of the land, or we will vote them out of office. Or we will raise the next generation of leaders, explaining to them as they grow up that they must change the system from the inside, much like the liberal hippies from the 60's have been trying to do for 30 some odd years.

And we will get things changed. We will stop, or at least strangle, illegal immigration. We will take back the schools in this country, and we will take back the government from the power brokers that sell us out to illegals and those that hire them everyday.

The hippies protested and quickly learned that the best way to change things was from the inside...and so they did just that. Of course many years of hippy inspired socialist policies has brought us down a bad road, but that too will change...in fact it has been changing ever since the GOP drew up the Contract With America and set out clear goals for the country to follow.

These protests will grow, and much like the hippies of yesteryear, we will find our voice in the streets and in the voting booth.

But, unlike the hippies, we haven't chosen a destructive un-American goal such as their utopian socialism.

We have chosen Freedom....and Freedom Will Triumph!!!!

"In 1871, nearly 100 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the District had its first democratically elected government. It was organized like a territorial government and consisted of a governor, a bicameral legislature with an appointed 11-member Upper House, and an elected 22-member Lower House. This government was notoriously corrupt and wasteful."


This is a little known issue "outside the beltway" as they say, and one I was unaware of until last night, but I feel that this needs some light shed on it.

The city of Washington was first incorporated in 1791 on the northern shore of the Potomac River near Georgetown, Maryland, and across the river from Alexandria, Virginia. The "Federal District," or the "District of Columbia" as it came to be called, consisted of pieces of land that were ceded by Maryland and Virginia to be used as the seat of the Federal Government.

Prior to the establishment of the District of Columbia in December 1800, residents of the newly founded city of Washington, and the existent cities of Georgetown and Alexandria, continued to vote for federal congressional representatives as citizens of either Maryland or Virginia.

As you can see what is now D.C. was once part of Maryland and Virginia.

When Congress arrived to take up residence in the new capital city in 1801, they passed the Organic Acts of 1801, which first disenfranchised the people living in the District of Columbia. The Act no longer permitted residents of the District of Columbia to continue to vote in the states from which the District had been created.

Now there is a reason why Congress took this action.

The Framers of the Constitution perceived that mischief could occur if the meeting place of the new federal government were in the control of, and subject to the vicissitudes of, local and/or state politics. So they provided in Article I, Section 8, that "The Congress shall have power – To exercise exclusive legislation in all cases whatsoever, over such district (not exceeding ten miles square) as may, by cessation of particular States, and the acceptance of Congress, become the seat of the government of the United States...."

As one can see, our Founding Fathers were wise, and realized that a city government in control of laws of the Capital could create "mischief", so they wrote in a clause that gave the federal government control of the District that the Capital would be in, as at the time of the writing the new capital had not been chosen.

They are working on a solution however, and legislation is in the works regarding this problem right now.

"On May 3, 2005, Representative Tom Davis [R-Virginia] introduced The DC Fairness in Representation Act (H.R. 2043) in the U.S. House with 12 Republican and Democrat co-sponsors." Here is the source.

Personally I think that "retrocession" should be the order of the day, as the call for a new state seems rather extreme.

A personal objection I have is a flag with 51 stars. I know I know, it is a personal quirk of mine, but it is a quirk I really like, this penchant for certain things to be in even numbers, but it is still a personal objection.

One of the valid (I believe) arguments I do have against statehood for D.C. is a new influx of federal dollarrs goint to D.C. for schools, policing, healthcare and other typical federal expenditures to the states.

On one side of this argument is that D.C. does have a high crime rate, but it has been falling the last few years, however it is embarrassingly high for the Capital of The Greatest Nation on the planet. (My patriotism is showing isn't it?)

D.C. also needs a hospital it seems, and it is well known that their schools are among the worst in America.

However making D.C. a state would pump in federal dollars by the boatload for what amounts to a city of just over half a million people, and I foresee that an influx of cash like that would bring up the schools and increase the police force, thereby raising property values. People that own homes there would of course have cause for celebration, however since D.C. itself is mostly a lower income black urban population, the percentage of renters is high, and with increased property values rents rise, thereby forcing out many of todays residents, and the calls of racism that would arise from D.C. being a state that "chases out the black folk" would be deafening.

I see that leading to calls for new programs to help the poor "disenfranchised" residents of D.C. stay there simply to avoid the appearence of racism in this stupidly PC world.

Programs such as rent control, something I am against as it stinks of socialism and takes away the freedom of property owners to profit from their investments.

I believe that the course to follow here is to look way outside the box to innovative solutions, such as giving the residents of D.C. the right to vote for their representatives in government back through the states they historically belonged to while keeping the control of D.C. itself under the watchful eye of Congress. Thta has been suggested.

Some people believe that there is another possible solution to the disenfranchisement of District residents from having voting representation in the U.S. Congress. Congress could pass legislation that would give District of Columbia residents the right to vote in the elections for Maryland's two U.S. Senators and could combine DC's population with Maryland's for the purposes of apportioning U.S. House of Representative seats. Under this solution, DC would not be reunited (or retroceded) back to Maryland, but District residents would share congressional representatives with the state of Maryland. If DC residents were counted with Maryland residents in the U.S. Census taken every ten years, Maryland would likely gain an additional seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Maryland's congressional districts would then be drawn to include DC and its voters. Although Congress would retain exclusive legislative authority over the District, its residents would have full congressional voting representation in both the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House as if they were residents of Maryland.

Why this is not being discussed more is beyond me, except to say that the documentary I saw seems to bring up race a lot and outright says that America doesn't seem to be ready for a "minority state". It also brings up territories such as Puerto Rico and America Samoa as examples of that.

Of course the arguments fly aout D.C. becoming a state and having their two senators may lead to major cities vying for the same thing, and proponents of D.C.s statehood remind us that other US cities do have representation in the federal government, however I could see, for example, San Francisco demanding statehood rights under the very valid argument that most of the rest of California considers them a bunch of far left socialist environmental wackos. However since states do control their own borders and territory,

"See Article IV, Section 3, "...nor shall any State be formed by the junction of two or more States, or parts of States. without the consent of the legislatures of the States concerned, as well as of the Congress."

I really don't see that happening no matter how much S.F. may wish it were the idea to occur to them, if it hasn't already that is.

This is an issue that needs more light shed on it, as right now the residents of D.C. are indeed being taxed without respresentation.

This is one of the major sticking points that led to our Revolution, and the fact that it continues is simply not right.

Once again the ACLU is supporting illegal immigration and claiming reasons other than the subversive agenda they are hiding from you and I.

It seems they are against the Real ID Act and they claim it is because of this:

The ACLU of Arizona expects some of that information to be checked over the internet, and the group is worried the process will give hackers one more way to steal identities.

The reason they are against the Real ID Act is because it would make it that much harder for illegal aliens to acquire "Valid Photo ID", therby making it harder for them to attain assistance from our great socialist programs. The ACLU believes that once someone is within our borders, regardless of HOW they got here, that they are entitled to everything a Citizen of the U.S of A. is entitled to under law.

This is simply not true.

Now before you guys go whining that I have no source to show that the ACLU believes those things about illegals being protected under the Law and Entitled to Services I must remind you that our Staunch Allies and Defenders that float at the edges of our comments section will gladly show you that I am, indeed correct, so complain at your own risk.

One more thing.

Just a quick thought here, if this is the reason they are against it then why aren't they against online banking, such as the transferring of money out of the country by illegals......like I said, just a thought.

Apparently he agrees with me...or I with him...doesn't matter...the answer is still no.

Danielle Crittenden whiles away her time daydreaming about a good relationship between hollywood and D.C.

Yeah...that'll happen while a Republican is in office and hollywood continues to drag us down an ever darkening road.

And Bill Maher, ever the funny guy, has a bit in there that leads me to wonder if we could use mikey the moore-on for this and finally make some use of the guy. Actually I shouldn't say that. I believe that he personally did more to get W re-elected than most.

Finally the "terms" page, which makes it sound like a team of rabid lawyers may be sent after you for daring to even copy some of it, with the exception of "one print copy that is limited to occasional articles of personal interest only".

NOT!!!!!!

Driving home from the show and feeling bad about being way too busy to post this weekend had me thinking of putting all of the bloggers that I consider to be members of the "We Hate Kender Club" in one post, (sans links of course), but then I wandered in and found instead a link in my comments section from "Kenders Truth Pill".

I am rolling in my chair laughing my ass off.

Let me give you my theory. AyngelK left a comment that made it sound as if she has heard about me from a source that knows me personally, mentioning that she is in Bill Gates backyard, so to speak, which led me to believe that she must know my friend(?) in WA. who knows me personally.

I offered to take her arguments up on the show but like a typical liberal whiner she didn't call.

S'alright tho'. I don't need her to call.

And Kenders Truth Pill won't call either, because I smacked her down on the phone one night after the show, telling her EXACTLY why the left is in such dire straights, why they are un-American and dangerous, and also why she needed to get the hell over it all and get on with making something of herself.

I have other friends that have been through much worse KTP, and have made a better life for themselves through hard work, drive, ambition and a desire to help their fellow man.

Perhaps it is something in the air in the northwest U.S that causes the mental disorder called "Liberalism" to spread. Perhaps it is in the air coming off of the ocean, after all the coasts are "blue", and with few exceptions the farther away one is from the coast the more "Red" one seems inclined to be.

Either way, KTP is now, instantly, the President of the "We Hate Kender Club", a group of people that seem to be my most ardent followers.

So here is a quick clarification of KTPs comments. Yes, I have been on SSI...but after my transplant it went away, and I am once again out in the workforce, practicing what I preach and pulling myself up with my own bootstraps.

Am I whining?

Hell NO!!!!

Are things a bit tight financially for me personally at the moment?

Of course.

Am I worried?

Absolutely not!!!

Why?

Because I believe in me. I know what I can do. I know what needs to be done, and I am doing it. I refuse to sit around and whine. I could go to school, probably with all those grants and such, and I have no doubt that if I chose to do so and applied myself that I would shine. But I choose not to do that.

Instead I am working 16 hour days, holding together my life with the aid of caffeine, nicotine and insanity.

Now onto KTP....honey, I now life is hard for ya', been there, done that, doing it again. But realize that really the government has a lot of programs already in place, and if you want to take advantage of them you must find them, and in some cases earn them. Might I suggest the lottery. That sounds like it is much more your speed. A buck here, a buck there, and maybe you will get lucky and hit it, going broke in two to three years like so many lottery winnners because they too lack the necessary discipline and skills for handling money.

We both know a certain girl that has taken advantage of several programs over the last five years, a lot of those she had to find herself, and she buckled down and did the work, starting at community college and applying herself to the task at hand.

She is now in a prestigious school, on a major scholarship, heading towrds a degree in her chosen field and in fact has won some scholastic thing where she is being sent to Japan for three months to study there also. She did all of this while dealing with a child and a husband who is also going to school, and he is also on track to do what he wants to do with his life.

For them the programs worked perfectly, because they took nothing for granted and worked hard to get where they are now and they continue to work hard to get where they are going.

I would apologize for pissing off your new little liberal, tree-hugging, whiny, close-minded friend but I am not sorry one bit about pissing her (he? It?) off. Thanks for saying such nice things about me though.

O.K.....you go get some rest now...I am sure you have other things to whine about in the morning.

A comment from K1 got me to thinking about the heart of a conservative.

His comment included his question of how much heart does a conservative have, based on Churchills quote, which goes something like "If you are not a liberal at 20, you have no heart, and if you are not a conservative at 40 you have no brain".

Much like an earlier post about what, in my experience, the right believes, I will put forth what my heart tells me the heart of a conservative holds true.

A Conservative Heart is Steadfast in the face of tragedy, and holds to reason for guiding actions, and refuses to jump into solutions without thought. This does not mean the Conservative Heart has no emotion, for in reality the conservative heart realizes that emotionally driven decisions make for bad decisions, therefore logic and common sense are placed above emotion when it comes to staying the course.

The Conservative Heart is Realistic and realizes that life isn't fair, and attempting to legislate fairness into life is much like asking the sun not to rise.

The Conservative Heart is Charitable. The Conservative Heart also realizes that Charity only comes through the heart, and anything else is either self-serving, ego feeding narcissism or theft.

The Conservative Heart is Forgiving. However the Conservative Heart also refuses to be made a fool of so it adheres to the old saw of "Fool Me Once, Shame On You, Fool Me Twice Shame On Me."

The Conservative Heart is Loyal, but will not hesitate to point out when it is confronted by a wrong, even, sometimes, at the risk of friendship.

The Conservative Heart is Bold. It has no qualms about walking the walk, realizing that only through action does the truth of ones heart show through, and that a lot of times, words are merely that....words.

The Conservative Heart is Honest, and will strive to walk the path of Truth everytime a choice is presented.

The Conservative Heart is Faithful. It realizes that sometimes that path of Truth is the hardest by far to travel, and by all appearences more may be lost by taking the road less travelled, but in the end Faith is rewarded, and only a True Heart shall reap those rewards.
