    The Wide Awakes

First and foremost, a big sweeping tip o' me tam to Beth for posting about this story, which I am shamlessly stealing, and also mighty big congrats to her on her 1 year blogaversary last friday, at least according to this complimentary fellow.

Anyway it seems that some other liberal media type is claiming that the US military is targeting journalists.

After the trouble that newsweek has caused the last week ya' gotta wonder if maybe that wouldn't start to be a good idea. (jk) Or am I?

Anyway, on with a quote from this sordid little tale of skewed reality and extreme liberal insanity:

Eason Jordan has an immitator. Her name is Linda Foley, and she is the International President of the Newspaper Guild. According to this site, she is also president of Communications Workers of America, the nation's largest broadcast and journalism workers union. Foley is, therefore, a big deal. The words she says in public matter. Last Friday, speaking at the 2005 National Conference for Media Reform (you'll note the irony in that in a moment) in St. Louis, she made the following outrageous claim:

"Journalists, by the way, are not just being targeted verbally or …ah, or… ah, politically. They are also being targeted for real, um…in places like Iraq. What outrages me as a representative of journalists is that there's not more outrage about the number, and the brutality, and the cavalier nature of the U.S. military toward the killing of journalists in Iraq."
"They target and kill journalists…uh, from other countries, particularly Arab countries like Al -, like Arab news services like Al-Jazeera, for example. They actually target them and blow up their studios with impunity…"

Linked in the title is JunkYardBlog. Go there and read the rest of this claptrap, wallow in the inanity of the left and get good and mad that someone of this woman's position in her field is tossing out unsubstantiated smears against our military and that very few people seem to be taking her to task on it.

And then go tell Beth congrats....better late than never eh?
