I seem to remember another story by another writer in teh bay area not all that long ago. Major Tip o' me lucky green Tam to Jeffrey at IBC.

Excerpts:

Nightfall, Jan. 30. Eight-million Iraqi voters have finished risking their lives to endorse freedom and defy fascism. Three things happen in rapid succession. The right cheers. The left demurs. I walk away from a long-term intimate relationship. I'm separating not from a person but a cause: the political philosophy that for more than three decades has shaped my character and consciousness, my sense of self and community, even my sense of cosmos.

We will call this an awakening. Here is a man that for more than 30 years was in teh grip of leftist ideaologies and once freedom began to break out in Iraq he realized what a waste of time the left truly is these days.

I choose this day for my departure because I can no longer abide the simpering voices of self-styled progressives -- people who once championed solidarity with oppressed populations everywhere -- reciting all the ways Iraq's democratic experiment might yet implode.

Yes, yes and YEESS....AMEN and Preach it Brother Keith. This has been nailed on the head. He has it so right here and it is so refreshing to see a liberal not only see his mistake but to actually write about it. I only wish he had come to his epiphany sooner.

I love this next quote:

Leading voices in America's "peace" movement are actually cheering against self-determination for a long-suffering Third World country because they hate George W. Bush more than they love freedom.

Shall I continue on with this sermon that rings as true as The gospel of St James?

These days the postmodern left demands that government and private institutions guarantee equality of outcomes. Any racial or gender "disparities" are to be considered evidence of culpable bias, regardless of factors such as personal motivation, training, and skill.

This is the TRUTH good people. The Truth as it was, is and always will be. The Truth that the left has no idea what they are saying.....have no idea what they are standing for other than "They are evil, and everything THEY believe is evil, vote for us."

Now, my Brothers and Sisters on, in and of the RIGHT, does any of this sound familiar? Have you heard these words of wisdom before? Of course you have. You, yourselves, have preached this gospel from the highest mount to the lowliest slum, always believing that the Truth will be percieved by those that see neither Truth nor Goodness in the world.

We have sermonized, (Amen), We have Prosyletized, (Hallelujah) and We have chastized, aggrandized and carmelized those on the left with this very speech, (Preach it To the Highest), and now, one of the misguided souls among the black sheep that have strove for the destruction of a great country from within has shown that the left CAN be SAVED!!!

BROTHERS AND SISTERS....Go READ this tale of a man that has strayed from the path of common sense and logical thought....a tale as sordid in the beginning as the latest Hollywood film, and a tale that, like most hollywood tripe that comes spewing forth as so much venom against common decency, has an ending that makes you FEEL GOOD!!!!

A tale of triumph against great odds.

A tale that needs to be oft repeated and more often duplicated.
