    The Wide Awakes

    Hello Iowa,

I want to take a moment to talk to you, state to state. For better or worse your people have chosen to start picking a presidential candidate rather early, but that's ok.

As a state that is supposedly full of "blue staters" you would think it odd that I am about to ask your people to vote for a conservative, but the truth is that once you get away from my lovely and rugged coast lines and head inland I am a rather Red State. All those liberals on the coast give me a bad reputation, so please ignore Hollywood and the ultra-liberal Sand Francisco set, and trust me when I say I know what I am talking about.

And what I want your people to do is to go out and choose Fred Dalton Thompson as their choice for the Republican Candidate for president.

There are several reasons whey I, as a State in this Great Nation, am endorsing Fred Thompson for President. Aside from the fact that he reminds me of one of my favorite former residents, Ronald Reagan, I think he is the only person running for office that has been consistent to what he says he believes in for his entire life.

As a state that cares deeply about the principles that made me the great state I am, I want to see those principles and beliefs pushed forward, to give other states the chance to achieve some of the greatness I have experienced since my induction into this great country.

Lately I have been under attack by folks streaming over my southern border and millions of others that wont work and think that the state government owes them something, and that reflects badly on me as a state. I don't like it. We must bring about change in this country and bring us back to the beliefs and policies that made us great in the first place, and conservative principles, and a strong leader that embodies as many of those principles as possible, is the only way to do that.

So Dear Iowa, ask your people to go out and support Fred Thompson for President. My friend Kender, who let me use his blog to get thi smessage out has told me that you can click the link below and donate money to Fred to help him get his message out. Tell them that Kender and The Great State of California sent you.

Last year, on Dec. 23rd, while doing a show on Wide Awakes Radio with I can’t remember who now, as things got real blurry for a bit and then, for reasons that will become clear, remain etched in my soul, I got a call that my Mom, who was quite ill with cancer, had been placed on a ventilator.

I was listening to some music we were playing very loudly, with headphones on, and at the end of the song I noticed the message light on the station phone blinking, which I thought was odd because I didn’t hear it ring. As I took off the headphones to check the call my girlfriend appeared at my side and asked if I had heard the call. She had been sitting in the other room, watching TV and heard the ring, and the message, and looked very worried.

She said “That was your sister, your mom is on a ventilator, and I think we should go to the hospital.”

Now, in my family we are no stranger to death, having had the old guard pass away, leaving us “kids” to marvel at how drab life can be when cherished childhood traditions, such as dinner at grandmas or Labor Day parties at the Aunt’s house are no longer there, and you’re left with a sense of longing and loss that is both nostalgic and regretful.

Sometimes, when the weather is just right and the light catches the mountains at just the right angle, or a certain scent plays out on the breeze, memories flood back and I am transported, just for that millisecond, to a childhood that seems so close I can touch it, but so far away that it may as well be galaxies away from me.

So we’re heading to the hospital, flying down the freeway, and my girlfriend, attempting to offer words of comfort, says “I’m sure your mom will be fine.”

Now before I go any further, you must know that it was my mom that gave rise to my theory that people are like pendulums. The farther they can swing in one direction, they can go equally far in the other. The nicer and more helpful a person can be, the farther into the other side of behavior they can swing. My mom would, if she liked you, do whatever she could to help you out, many times to her own detriment, but if you were on her hit list you weren’t safe from anything she could come up to do to you, and she could be a very vindictive woman when she was angry at you. But her anger was always quick to fade.

I looked over at my girlfriend and said, very matter of factly, “No, it will be Christmas Eve in a few minutes, and if anyone is going to die on Christmas Eve and make the rest of my Christmases a remembrance of death, it’ll be her.”

At the hospital she seemed rather unresponsive, but when I stood at her bedside and looked into her eyes, I saw recognition and a single tear that slowly rolled down her cheek. My sister, brother in law, cousin, my girlfriend and my mom’s husband, who was my friend long before he married her, stood there with me for a bit. We decided to go down to the cafeteria to get out of the way of the nurses that were working feverishly to stabilize mom, who had started declining as we stood there.

Mom always made sure we went to church when we were kids, whether we wanted to or not. Many years later, sitting in a barn at Santa Anita, I asked her about why she always made us go but didn’t go herself. She said something very profound, that, now that I look back at it, helped shape me into the person I am today.

She said “Me and God are good friends. We’ve had our talks, and my church is this barn. I care for these horses, and God talks to me through them. God is all around us, in everything we see, everything we touch, every sound and every smell. I know God, and it was my job to make sure you know him too. I just hope they have horses in heaven.”

Later, heading back up to the ICU we heard a call for a Code Blue in ICU, and instinctively knew it was mom. When we got up there she was in full arrest, and the nurse asked our permission to stop all measures and let her go. Mom’s husband, the man she had spent the last 17 years with, who depended on her as a friend, confidant and lover, could barely talk as he said to just let her go. Then he promptly collapsed against the wall and into my sister’s arms, wailing in such a way as to let anyone hearing him know that his heart had just been torn from him.

I stepped outside to call family members that were awaiting word, and the next week is a blur. I don’t remember that Christmas, or anything much until the funeral, which was well attended, a testament, I guess, to how many people she touched in her life.

I miss her terribly, but I am not sad. I believe there is an after life, and if I am wrong I will never know it, but if I am right I will see her again.

But like I said, some things get seared into your memory and they will be a part of you until you die. What is seared into my memory about Christmas now is those last few moments with mom.

As we were leaving for the cafeteria, I stood at mom’s bedside and held her hand, and I could see the pain in her eyes from enduring something she plainly said she didn’t want to have happen to her. Thankfully left alone for a moment I took that time to lean in close and told her “Let go mom, it’ll be ok, I’m sure they have horses in heaven.”

Its become a popular yearly tradition now to send the Anti-Christian Liars Union grinches a Christmas card. I personally think its ineffective, and that the money you waste on a stamp for the organization to toss in the shredder would be better served towards a good cause. So, I encourage you to save that money, dig a little deeper, and contribute to an organization that fights the ACLU and defends Christmas. The Alliance Defense Fund, and the ACLJ are both great organizations that defend Christmas each year. The Alliance Defense Fund does it for free. Why not help groups like that out this year?

However, from experience last year...I know that many will insist on sending the ACLU a Christmas card. Afterall, it is tradition. If that is how you want to make your message...we have some great greeting cards and postcards available at our online store. Plenty of other great Christmas gifts too.

Send your Christmas card to the ACLU at:

The House rushed through legislation that would force "Anyone providing an 'electronic communication service' or 'remote computing service' to the public who learns about the transmission or storage of information about certain illegal activities or an illegal image" to report it or face up to THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS in fines!!!!

This includes the corner coffee shop with the free wifi. So now you are going to have the coffee shop owner forced by law to keep an eye on your surfing while you down that double soy decaf latte mochachinno frappawhatthehell...nice huh?

This bill went through without any kind of review, and the greatly changed text is not available for public review. That's the Democrats for ya....."Shut up and do what we tell ya, don't ask questions, it's for the children."

    Mary Bomar's fraudulent investigation

In April 2006, Park Service Director Mary Bomar ordered an internal investigation into claims that the planned Flight 93 Memorial is actually a terrorist memorial mosque, built abound a giant Mecca-oriented crescent. Bomar's investigation was a total fraud, concluding, for instance, that it isn't possible to calculate the orientation of the crescent because the site-plan has not been geo-referenced. (Page 2, PP2 of September 2006 summary report. Page 1 here.)

In fact, the original Crescent of Embrace site-plan was drawn on a topo map that the Memorial Project provided to all participants in the design competition. A topo map is the epitome of a geo-referenced map. North marked on a topo map is true north, which is the only piece of information needed to calculate the orientation of the crescent. Just connect the tips of the crescent, form the perpendicular bisector, and calculate how many degrees it points from north (53.4).

Also known are the crash-site coordinates, which is all that is needed to calculate the direction to Mecca (55.2° clockwise from north). All of this is trivially easy to verify. Just use the Mecca-direction calculator at to get a graphic of the direction to Mecca from the crash site and place it over the crescent site plan:

    Giant crescent pointst to Mecca

Somerset PA is ten miles from the crash-site. The "qibla" is the direction to Mecca. Red lines show the orientation of the crescent. The crescent points 1.8° north of Mecca. (Click for larger image.)

    A request for oversight

Because it is the director's office that has been covering up the Mecca-orientation of the crescent, oversight can only come from Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne himself. Several people sent letters to Secretary Kempthorne two weeks ago, showing how the giant Mecca-oriented crescent remains completely intact in the so called redesign. But Mr. Kempthorne also needs to know that he is getting bad information from his subordinates in the Park Service. Thus a request for all readers of this post: if you have a minute, please copy and paste this entire post into an email for Secretary Kempthorne.

We don't need for the secretary to understand all the terrorist memorializing features in the design, or the numerous proofs of intent that architect Paul Murdoch included so that his accomplishment will be undeniable once it is a fait accompli. It is enough that he be concerned about features that can be readily interpreted as terrorist memorializing, whether they are intended or not. As Congressman Tancredo put it: we need "a new design that will not make the memorial a flashpoint for this kind of controversy and criticism."

But even getting to the most basic facts about what is in the present design requires getting past Mary Bomar's fraudulent report, which tries to pretend that there is nothing that can even be interpreted as untoward.

    Mary Bomar's intellectually dishonest "experts"

In addition to claiming that topo maps are not geo referenced, Mary Bomar's internal investigation cites a small number of academic experts, all of whom spout nothing but the most absurd non sequiturs. One is Dr. Daniel Griffith, professor of "geo-spatial information" at the University of Texas. About Alec Rawls' analysis of the Mecca orientation of the giant crescent, Dr. Griffith writes:
... Mr. Rawls's arithmetic calculations appear to be correct ... [but] ... just because calculations are correct does not make the resulting numbers meaningful.
Dr. Griffith's point, it seems, is that the mere fact of Mecca orientation does not imply intent. Who said it did? The way Murdoch proves intent is by repeating his Mecca orientations (scroll down to the last section here). But intent is not the only thing that matters. Even without terrorist memorializing intent, it is inappropriate to plant a giant Mecca oriented crescent on the crash site.

The Memorial Project knows this, but it is committed to defending the crescent design, so it keeps using its doubts about intent as an excuse for denying the facts. Dr. Griffith, for instance, is telling every reporter who will listen that there is no such thing as the direction to Mecca. "Anything can point toward Mecca," he told the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, "because the earth is round." One billion Muslims face Mecca five times a day to pray, and Griffith pretends there is no such thing as facing Mecca!

Of course he knows better. The first thing that Griffith's report does is calculate the direction to Mecca:
I computed an azimuth value from the Flight 93 crater site to Mecca of roughly 55.20°.
    Bomar expert #2

Dr. Kevin Jaques, specialist in Islamic sharia law from the University of Indiana, acknowledges that the Mecca-oriented crescent is similar to the mihrab around which every mosque is built, but says:
...just because something is 'similar to' something else does not make it the 'same'.
Yes, well, similar--very, very similar--is exactly the problem.

Like Daniel Griffith, Mr. Jaques is trying to make hay of the fact that Mecca orientation does not by itself imply intent. So what? Intentional or not, it is unacceptable for the central feature of the Flight 93 memorial to be a geometric match for the central feature of a mosque. Jaques is pretending that the questions he raises about intent somehow make the facts irrelevant.

Professor Jaques also dismisses the likeness between the Mecca-oriented crescent and a traditional Islamic mihrab by noting that lots of religious structures have prayer-direction indicators, not just mosques:
The biggest hole in [Rawls'] argument is that all of the elements he points to are common architectural features that one would find in a church or synagogue. The mihrab originated in pre-Islamic buildings and can be found in temples, churches, and synagogues around the Mediterranean.
This is logic? Because Christian churches are often oriented to the east, that somehow makes it okay to build the Flight 93 memorial around a half-mile wide Mecca oriented crescent? If this is "the biggest hole in [Rawls'] argument," then there are no holes in Rawls' argument.

Project spokesmen know the truth, and are lying about it

Memorial Project spokesmen have followed the lead of these academic frauds, using doubts about intent as a pretext for denying the facts. Asked about Rawls' Mecca orientation claim, Patrick White, vice president of Families of Flight 93, denied it:
Rawls' claims are untrue and "preposterous," according to Patrick White, Families of Flight 93 vice president. "We went through in detail all his original claims and came away with nothing."
In fact, Patrick White is fully aware of the Mecca orientation of the giant crescent. At the Memorial Project's public meeting in July he argued that the almost-exact Mecca orientation of the giant crescent cannot be intended as a tribute to Islam because the inexactness of it would be "disrespectful to Islam."

Joanne Hanley has done the same:
"Alec Rawls bases all of his conclusions on faulty assumptions," said Joanne Hanley, the superintendent of the Flight 93 National Memorial. "In addition, the facts are twisted and people are misquoted, all to serve his intended purpose."
But she too has admitted the Mecca-orientation of the giant crescent, telling Mr. Rawls in a 2006 conference call that she wasn't concerned about the almost-exact Mecca orientation of the crescent because: "It isn't exact. That's one we talked about. It has to be exact." (Crescent of Betrayal, download 3, page 145.)

These are your subordinates Mr. Kempthorne. Please do not let them get away with this fraud. Congressman Tancredo is demanding answers from Director Bomar and many of us are hoping that you will do the same. There is not much time. Construction on Paul Murdoch's terrorist memorial mosque is about to begin.

    Kender MacGowan
    America? We need to talk.

Specifically we need to talk if you are a conservative and or consider yourself a patriot, and not one of those traitorous patriots on the left, who actually speak more like an enemy of the state than a proud citizen of the greatest country ever anywhere.

I need to know what you are thinking.

Specifically I need to know why Rudy Giuliani is leading in the polls?

Can you honestly say that Rudy is a conservative?

He has stood against the 2nd Amendment, for gay rights (which are in essence special privileges for a group of people that have made a choice) been in favor of illegals (and the old saw of "He did it to reduce crimes" simply shows that he can compromise his principles with the best of them) and ran around on his wife, publically, and then moved in with a gay couple (probably because nobody else would have him at that moment) showing that his adherence to vows he willingly takes is suspect at best.

If he was so willing to toss aside the oath he took for marriage, a personal oath that is supposed to come from the heart and be meant with every fiber in your body, how serious is he going to take the oath of president?

With the nomination of Rudy the GOP slides ever leftward surrendering gay issues for certain, and possibly giving up gun rights and illegal alien issues.

What issues are you going to be willing to give up in '08? What about in 2012?

In short, Rudy is NOT a conservative, and has never claimed to be.

Sure, he cleaned up New York but New York is NOT the United States, and the things he did to clean up New York are not gonna work for the country as a whole. For instance, giving illegals a pass to help with the crime rate is not gonna work when illegals ARE the crime that needs to be dealt with, and dealt with WITHOUT COMPROMISE. Putting more boots on the ground AT THE BORDER is the first order of business, and Rudy has already said we can't possibly deport millions of people.

I call bullshit on that one. This, people, is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and we CAN do whatever we set our minds to do. We beat back the fascists in WW2, stopped communist aggression and won the cold war, put a man on the friggin moon and gave the world damned near every decent advancement for humanity in the last century.

    Affordable automobiles?

    That was us.

The highest rate of home ownership in history?

    That was us.

    The polio vaccine?

    Us again.

Oh yeah, and that whole freedom thingy?

    Ours....from the get go.

Now why and how we did what we have done is the one thing you should be pondering at this moment. How did we do it?

Men have the freedom in this country to succeed or fail on their own merits, without interference by the state. To accomplish this end we need a government that is small and doesn't meddle where it shouldn't meddle, which means we need a government that believes in states rights, a government that promotes Federalism and realizes that the federal government is not there to solve all the problems that people have.

And the one person that is running for President that embodies those ideals, that has shown consistently that he is a Federalist that believes in states rights first, is Fred Dalton Thompson.

Now many people out there are saying Fred is lazy.

Let me tell you something. If being a successful lawyer, prosecutor, lobbyist, actor and State Senator is the job history of a lazy man then dammit give me more lazy men. Not to mention that unlike so many others that could get a mention here Fred GAVE UP his Senator seat when he felt he had done what he set out to do. He came, He served, He went back to his life.

And now, the Republic needs a man like Fred, and Fred knows it. He may not seem all fired up to do the job, but that's because so many of you out there don't understand Fred. Fred is the Quiet Man. The man that sees a job that needs done, and simply sets about to doing it, not taking every possible opportunity to crow about his accomplishments. That's because Fred is NOT a career politician. Fred is a patriot, who loves his country and wants to help out and set her back on the course that has brought us to the point we are at now.

Fred is exactly what we need right now at this point in history. He is the only man running that has consistently shown a concern for doing the right thing, with a strong belief in states rights and a refreshing honesty that embodies exactly the kind of person that should be running this country, but has been absent from the national stage for far too long.

    Vote for Fred Dalton Thompson
Listed below are the positions of the current front runner for the Office of President of the United States.

    Abortion: Supports

    Taxpayer support of abortion: Supports

    Embryonic stem cell research: Supports

    Federal marriage amendment: Opposes

Same-sex domestic partnerships and civil unions: Supports

Open homosexuals in the military: Supports

    Amnesty for illegal aliens: Supports

Tough penalties for employers of illegal aliens: Opposes

Sanctuary cities that ignore immigration law: Supports

Now looking at that one must wonder why anyone would support Hillary Clinton for President, right? Except these aren't Hillary's positions (well, they are but that's another story), oh no, these positions are the ones taken by Rudy Guiliani, the "conservative" that is the current front runner of the GOP.

All a conservative can do at this point is shake their heads and say "WTF?" Really....can anyone, ANYONE, point out a difference between hillary and rudy except that rudy looks better in a dress?

After Jay from Stop the ACLU wrote this morning about a currency company being raided the Ron Paul Nuts descended on him like a pack of ravenous kooks.

While I am not going to get involved in the money argument, I do have to back the people that claim that Paul's supporters are, quite frankly, insane. Ron Paul backs an isolationist policy and has said that our foreign policy caused 9-11.

ON the other hand his statement that he gets his orders from the Constitution is the best thing I have heard a politician utter since Reagan graced the national stage.

To all you Ron Paul nuts, welcome...comments ARE moderated but will eventually get published when I get back from my weekly meeting with Karl Rove and the rest of the Empire's architects at the Official Vast Right Wing Conspiracy Steakhouse and Bordello, conveniently located at Halliburton HQ, Home of the New and Improved Bush-Hurricane-O-Matic, newly armed with a Seismic Disruptor Ray.
Got this in email and had to share it:

    Twas the month before Christmas

    When all through our land,
    Not a Christian was praying
    Nor taking a stand.

Why the Politically Correct Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas - no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.

It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a "Holiday."
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!

CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod,

Something was changing, something quite odd!
    Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken and Fonda.

But as Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears
You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.

    Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!

At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace.
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded.

The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate "Winter Break" under your "Dream Tree"
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say

Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday,

Our Countries were founded under the Christian way

To our "guests" I can say,

If You don't like it, You don't have to stay!!

My good friend and internet security guru John Bambenek has uncovered and is covering a story of ghastly evil that has been spawned in the bastion of idiocy San Francisco.

I am firmly of the belief that 'frisco (the folks that live there hate it when you call it "frisco") should be quarantined from the rest of humanity, and all the simpletons in berserkely should be sent there when we do it. Dig a moat across the peninsula, tear down the bay bridge and the golden gate bridge and cut off communications by jamming all signals and cutting their power and phone lines. Then blockade the docks.

I am serious. Those people are friggin nuts.....why just the other day they came down hard on Barack Obama for saying we need to fix social security.

Anyway, it seems the ACLU (paragon of defense against all things sensible and cheerleader of the Religion of Secularism) has filed suit against the U.S. Government for having the balls to give people a paid day off for Christmas.

If this is allowed to stand, if this suit gains traction and is seen through to its conclusion, and Christmas is lost to us, then they had better cease giving hoidays for anything, including Ramadan.

Personally I think the ACLU has their heads up their collective asses and should be tried as seditious morons and then given cut rate lobotomies in a mexican medical clinic.

    But that's just me.

So click the link in the title of this post and read all about it. As John says, the ACLU could go down as the law firm that stole Christmas.
Support Tom Tancredo's call to scrap the crescent memorial

The Park Service has a history of keeping the Secretary of the Interior in the dark about the decisions it makes in his name. It is likely that Secretary Dirk Kempthorne has never been told about the many warnings of Islamic symbolism in the planned Flight 93 Memorial. Please help bring Dirk into the loop by pasting the following letter (or one of your own) into an email for him.

    Dear Secretary Kempthorne:

Please heed Congressman Tom Tancredo's call to completely scrap the present design for the Flight 93 Memorial. The original Crescent of Embrace design would have planted a bare naked crescent and star flag on the crash site:

Crescent of Embrace and crescent and star

The memorial plaza that sits roughly in the position of the star on an Islamic flag marks the crash site. (Click pics for larger images.)

All the redesign did was add some trees to the west of the original crescent:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Aside from the re-coloring of the site-plan image, the only actual change in the design is the additional arc of trees to the rear of a person facing into the original crescent.

The Park Service promised Congressman Tancredo in 2005 that Islamic iconography would be removed from the memorial. Instead, this iconography has only been very slightly disguised. Every particle of the original Crescent of Embrace design remains completely intact in the redesign.

The giant crescent points to Mecca

In September 2005, a half dozen different bloggers verified that a person facing directly into the original Crescent of Embrace would be facing almost exactly at Mecca. That makes the crescent a mihrab, the central feature around which every mosque is built.

Face into the crescent to face Mecca:

    Cordoba mihrab and crescent orientation

Left: mihrab from the Great Mosque in Cordoba Spain. Right: Crescent of Embrace also faces Mecca. The green circle is from the Mecca-direction calculator at When it is placed over the original Crescent of Embrace site plan, the Mecca-direction line (the "qibla") almost exactly bisects the crescent.

You can plant as many trees around a mosque as you want and it will still be a mosque. But this isn't just the world's largest mosque. The planned memorial is also full of terrorist memorializing features.

Please hear my voice along with those of Congressman Tancredo and Tom Burnett Sr., who is refusing to allow Tom Jr.'s name to be used in the crescent design. The memorial to Flight 93 should not be a terrorist memorial mosque.

    I am serious.

    Why are we fighting?

    What good is victory?

Nobody loves a winner, especially a cocky one that has all the advantages, such as a superior military capability, in this instance.

I am liking the liberals ideas in rooting for the underdog terrorist cells that would gladly kill them too. I mean, if any of them rooting against the troops that protect their homeland are ever captured (and not kidnapped because those guys aren't terrorists but freedom fighters fighting a war) and beheaded I am sure that the last thoughts through their minds won't be "Why the hell did I root for these guys again" but rather "YES!!!! These guys rock with all their beheading of us infidels...I should have converted to isGAAAAKKKKKK........"

In the same vein of the democrats rooting for an underdog I have a few ideas.

From now no more Special Olympics. We'll take the Special Olympians and stick them in the regular olympics and then we'll throw sticks at the regular olympians....or make them run through waist deep water.

In the swimming competition we'll give the handicapped folks a boat and make the regular swimmers wear 30 pound lead helmets.

I also agree with the liberals idea that people should not feel bad about themselves. Earned self esteem is so isn't actually cheap, because it's earned so it's real, but it cheapens all the talk about how good people are, even when they are lazy no count bastards.

So from now on we can't talk bad about anyone but white christian males, because it is white christian males that actually run the world.

SO I have a solution to that too, because I am tired of being a person that oppresses others simply by the fact that I was, in fact, born a white christian male.

Henceforth I am going to be an African American Lesbian Buddhist with one leg, a stutter and a slight case of downs.

We gotta dress up like homeless guys and monitor the next major code pinko protest as punishment for using the Bush Hurricane-O-Matic (B.H.O.M.) to chase illegals through the New Mexican Desert with all the lights on while playing the theme from Close Encounters on the loudspeakers.

Some guys just have no sense of humor.

Anyway.....who should walk in but Karl Rove. After the entire room jumped up and saluted and watched as Karl used the power of his mind to choke to death a subordinate that saluted too slowly he (Karl) walked over and asked to have a word with us. It seems the democrats are raising more money than we are this election cycle, and Karl asked if we had any fund raising ideas.

I have a few and want to run them by you guys to see which you would be interested in or which one you think may be a good idea.

    A) Auction off the set from the faked moon landing on eBay

    B) Offer rides on the Bush Hurricane-O-Matic

    C) Fund an expedition to find John Kerry's military records so we could sell them on eBay

    D) Lay claim to the acre of land between Pelosi's eyes and eyebrows and sell advertising.

The funds raised will be used to pay for a mission to explore hillary's flanks, in an attempt to find a bigger tract of land for the new Git-Mo Resort for Terrorists and WayWard Orphans.

Conservatism is to liberalism what AA is to alcoholism.

    Think about it.

The alcoholic that joins AA often grows a new appreciation for a higher being.

Conservatives tend to be somewhat religious.

Alcoholics that join AA spend a lot of their time regretting their past actions and trying to right those wrongs.

"Neocons" tend to do the same, by getting more politically active and saying "I used to think that way, then I woke up."

Alcoholics tend to have lots of meetings where they discuss their plans and actions and where to go from here.

Conservatives do the same. Of course so too do the liberals but those meetings are simply planning how to foment more chaos. In this instance we can equate the meetings of liberal groups to the board meetings of companies that brew alcohol, sitting down to figure out how to push their product on new customers and keep the current ones loyal, and boy have they done that too.

It's as if the makers of Bacardi had gotten employees with stock options on the school boards and university payrolls across the world to mandate that school kids drink a portion of grog each day, only in this case the disease they are pushing is liberalism, and unlike alcoholism, where someone that wants to drink can drink to their hearts content and not affect me as long as they don't drive drunk or get stupid with someone I care about, liberalism is pushing socialism, with all the inherent theft by mandate that goes with it, and I am going to be stuck with it.

    So I propose a plan.

Alcoholism is termed a disease. I don't think it is one. I think it's a personal choice for sure, an addiction for some, but not a disease. Nobody chooses to get cancer, but one must choose to drink to excess. But as long as someone wants to claim it's a disease, let's use that to our advantage and get another mental disorder on the books.

Let's really try to legally make liberalism a disease, and get these people some help.

I propose an group called, of course, L.A., Liberals Anonymous (which is twice as funny as Los Angeles is one of the hotbeds of liberal thought disorder) and make it much simpler than AA to complete.

Alcoholics Anonymous has twelve steps to completion. Twelve is a lot. For liberals we need like, oh I don't know, two.

    Step one: Join L.A.

    Step two: Shut Up.
In September 2005, Colorado Representative Tom Tancredo said that he would not be happy so long as the Flight 93 Memorial still included the giant crescent. He has kept his promise. The crescent is still there, and Tom Tancredo is NOT HAPPY.

Alec Rawls has just received from Representative Tancredo a letter of complaint that Mr. Tancredo sent to Park Service Director Mary Bomar this afternoon. It notes the continued presence of the crescent:
Unfortunately, it appears that little if any substantive changes to the most troubling aspect of the design – the crescent shape – have been made.
And it calls for scrapping the crescent design entire and starting anew:
And while I regret having to contact the Park Service again about this issue, I sincerely hope that you will direct the committee to scrap the crescent design entirely in favor of a new design that will not make the memorial a flashpoint for this kind of controversy and criticism.
Thank you Tom Tancredo! The full text of Mr. Tancredo's letter is pasted below.

G Gordon Liddy is on it

Alec Rawls will be on G Gordon Liddy's radio show tomorrow morning (Tuesday) from 11-12, talking about the many Islamic and terrorist memorializing features in the planned memorial. The show should be a blockbuster.

Tom Burnett Sr. is going to call in. Tancredo or his press secretary TQ Houlton may call in And YOU can call in:

A crescent and star flag on the crash site

For those who are not familiar with the memorial debacle, the original Crescent of Embrace design would have planted a bare naked Islamic crescent and star flag on the crash site:

Bare naked crescent and star flag on the crash site

Architect Paul Murdoch's job is to work with symbols. He did not plant an Islamic flag on the crash site by accident. But even if this were somehow coincidence, it would still be wrong to build the memorial in a shape that the hijackers claimed as their own.

Representative Tancredo was the only Congressman to state the obvious, that "the crescent's prominent use as a symbol in Islam--and the fact that the hijackers were radical Islamists," raises the possibility that "the design, if constructed, will in fact make the memorial a tribute to the hijackers." (Tancredo Press release, 9/12/2005. See Crescent of Betrayal, download 1, page xiii.)

Two days later, Tancredo's press secretary laid out Tom's conditions:
... that the congressman would be happy with the changes only if the crescent shape is removed.
    Nothing was changed

All the Memorial Project did was add some surrounding trees. Every particle of the original Crescent of Embrace design remains completely intact in the Bowl of Embrace redesign. The crescent shape was NOT removed. It was only very slightly disguised:

    Crescent/Bowl of Embrace comparison

The graphics were recolored, and a few trees were added outside of the mouth of the crescent (lower left). Every particle of the original crescent and star structure remains. (Click here for site plan view.)

Representative Tancredo was right to demand removal of the crescent. It turns out that a person facing directly into the half mile wide crescent will be facing Mecca. That makes it a mihrab, the central feature around which every mosque is built. You can plant as many trees around a mosque as you want and it will still be a mosque. This is the world's largest mosque, by a factor of a hundred.

If you want to thank Tom Tancredo for keeping his Flight 93 promise and standing up again for the honor of our murdered heroes, his phone numbers and online email form are here.

Full text of Representative Tancredo's letter to Park Service Director Mary Bomar

    November 5, 2007

    The Honorable Mary A. Bomar

    National Park Service

    U.S. Department of Interior

    1849 C Street NW

    Washington, DC 20240

    Dear Director Bomar,

I am regrettably writing you in reference to the proposed memorial to commemorate the victims of Flight 93 which crashed in Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001. As you may know, I contacted Director Mainella in late 2005 about my concerns with the design.

The appropriateness of the original design, dubbed the "Crescent of Embrace," was questioned because of the crescent's prominent use as a symbol in Islam – and the fact that the hijackers were radical Islamists. As I pointed out in my September 2005 letter, the use of the crescent has raised questions in some circles about whether the design would make the memorial a tribute to the hijackers rather than the victims whose mission the flights passengers helped to thwart.

When I received Director Mainella's response to my letter on October 6, 2005, I was pleased to read her assurance that the advisory committee and the architect were amenable to "refinements in the design which will include negating any perceptions to the iconography." I was also pleased to learn that the name of the memorial was to be changed.

Unfortunately, it appears that little if any substantive changes to the most troubling aspect of the design – the crescent shape – have been made. This deeply concerns me. As I told Director Mainella in 2005: Regardless of whether or not the invocation of a Muslim symbol by the memorial designer was intentional, I continue to believe that the use of this symbol is unsuitable for paying appropriate tribute to the heroes of Flight 93 or the ensuing American struggle against radical Islam that their historic last act has come to symbolize.

I remain committed to ensuring that this memorial is a powerful symbol for the whole nation and a testament to the courage and will of the passengers of the flight – as I am sure you are. And while I regret having to contact the Park Service again about this issue, I sincerely hope that you will direct the committee to scrap the crescent design entirely in favor of a new design that will not make the memorial a flashpoint for this kind of controversy and criticism.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    Tom Tancredo, M.C.

    The phony redesign

To see clearly how the redesign leaves the original Mecca-oriented cescent fully intact, note that the orientation of the crescent is determined by connecting the most obtruding points of the crescent structure, then forming the perpendicular bisector to this line (red arrow):

    Crescent bisector points to Mecca

The green circle shows the direction to Mecca (the "qibla" direction) from Somerset PA. It was generated using the Mecca-direction calculator at Just place this qibla graphic over the original Crescent of Embrace site plan and the Mecca-direction line almost exactly bisects the crescent.

Looking closely at the above graphic (click for larger image), you can see that the most obtruding tip at the bottom of the original crescent structure is the last red maple at the bottom. On top, the most obtruding tip of the crescent structure is the the end of the thousand foot long, fifty foot tall, Entry Portal Wall. Here is an artist's rendering of the end of the Entry Portal Wall as seen in the Bowl of Embrace redesign. It shows how overtly this upper crescent tip remains intact in the redesign:

    Upper crescent tip unchanged

The redesign only added the extra row of trees on the left, behind the visitors in this graphic. Notice that these trees are not even visible to a person who is facing into the crescent. They do not even affect a visitor's experience of the crescent, never mind affect the presence or integrity of the crescent itself.
and I bet I get called a racist for it too.

From the Department of Utter Stupidity (a department that is overwhelmingly populated with democrats) comes this story of the insanity of our current crop of congress critters. Just for the record I am doing my part and having a cigarette while posting this. The only other thing I have to add is we get what we vote for.....what a country of dumbasses we seem to be these days, huh?

    Just watch the video:

*=Official Motto of the Democrats United for Massive Bureaucratic And Social SErvices Society
Famed explorer Dora, a mainstay on the Nickelodeon Channel since 2000, was arrested by ICE agents yesterday and deported. Dora, whose real name is Maria Conchita La Princessa de Chiquita Bananabana Fo Fana Smith apparently crossed into the United States illegally in the mid 90's and worked a variety of low end job before befriending an executive at Nickelodeon by securing an overweight dominatrix and a truckload of Jolt Cola and whipped cream for an emergency party the un-named executive was holding at a Beverly Hills hotel that employed Ms Smith as a maid at the time.

After that fateful night the show idea for Dora the Explorer was pitched and an episode aired in 1999, and surprisingly was a hit, which led to the show being put on the schedule in 2000.

Rumors at the Nickelodeon Studio is that Ms Smith's co star "Swiper" played by Emilio Estevez, reported her to ICE after she welched on a bet regarding how long the monkey "Boots" would stay in rehab over the off season.

Reporters for this website are checking into those allegations as we type, and will be posting an update when we have new information.
Boulder County, Colorado is considering a plan that is evil genius in it's simplicity while combining the theft of freedom, property rights and short-sighted stupidity.

I write about plans that have an "evil genius" angle quite often, mainly due to the fact that I respect evil genius, there seems to be a lot of it out there, and so often evil genius plans also meet the criteria of stealing freedom while being so blindingly stupid that only a genius could possibly find a way to word the plan that would get it passed by any group of people that weren't wearing helmets and drool bibs.

Boulder County Colorado's plan for what amounts to housing credits is just such a plan. This is only the latest in movements by city and county entities that are enacting ordinances and laws all over the country to stymie growth by limiting square footage and creating conservation districts.

Taking their cue from the fabled carbon credits scheme, which is basically a self imposed guilt tax, the Boulder County officials have come up with a "cap and trade scheme" called "transferable development rights" would cap building size and allow homeowners that wanted to buiild bigger than the regulations to buy the right to build bigger from other homeowners that are under the size limit, thereby letting them do with their own property as they see fit while apparently permanently keeping the homeowner that sold the "credit" from ever building their house bigger.

Whether this would transfer to the new owner of a house remains to be seen, but it appears that it would, but I suspect that only a court case would really answer that question.

You know, carbon credits, otherwise known as carbon offsets were bad enough, so bad in fact that Justin and I were selling Liberal Offsets on eBay not too long ago. (Linked to Misha's due to the great commentary re; this issue)

Total Kaos Radio even came up with Methane Credits in an attempt to combat Global Worming in their own charming way.

So to the folks in Boulder County Colorado that came up with this plan of pure evil genius I doff my chapeau to you. You have created a plan that steals property rights from two property owners with each transaction, sets an arbitrary tax on people for building their on their own property all while making it sound like you were saving the earth and have done so with a straight face.

Given that the median size of houses in Boulder County Colorado have gone up twice the national average over the last 16 years, meaning that your homeowners sound as if they are successful people, which means they usually are smarter than the average bear, I would guess that your homeowners are not a bunch of morons that are going to let this plan pass without a fight, so good luck with your evil freedom stealing plan to make yourselves feel good about saving the world.

The only thing that remains to be seen is if the citizens of your county are stupid enough to fall for it.

I am betting that the answer will be a resounding NO!
Our Founding Fathers (NOT simply Founders) signed a Declaration, pledging their "lives, fortunes and sacred honor" to the belief that Man is inherently gifted from birth with inalienable rights, in other words rights that are not granted by the government, therefore they are rights that cannot be taken away.

They went on to forge the most astounding document to follow that one in the Constitution.

Not one but two historic documents that changed the world, and continue to change it today.

They crafted the Constitution so that government would be limited, knowing that a limited government that had a narrowly defined scope of powers, balanced by two other branches, would be a great government and retain to the higest possible extent the freedom thatis inherently ours from birth.

Our government has overstepped those bounds, more so since World War 2 than before that, although the "temporary tax" to fund WW1 stayed with us to this day.

I have been listening closely to the candidates for president, and of all of them that have a chance the ONLY one I have seen EVER mention that an issue should be left to the states, regardless of issue, is Fred Dalton Thompson.

    Fred is a Federalist.

Fred is the ONLY Federalist running.

We NEED that type of thinking in the White House desperately.

The Federal Government has been sticking their nose into our lives in an ever more intrusive way, and it's about time to have a President that believes certain things should be run by the states.

Just something for you to think about today.
You simply must watch this. With a tip 'o' me tam to Cao

In the latest skirmish in the War on Christmas. From an AFA Action Alert I received in email:
Mrs. Fields bans Christmas from their products

    Dear Kender,

Mrs. Fields has become the first company to ban Christmas from their products and promotion for this year.

When Diane H. of Michigan called Mrs. Fields and asked to speak with a supervisor in customer service about why they banned Christmas, the supervisor told Diane that they do not offer anything with Merry Christmas because they don't want to offend anyone.

Click the title of this post and it will take you to Mrs. Fields website search page, where a search of Christmas will get you no results as of the posting of this article by me.

Click here to send an email to Mrs. Fields.
Tell the company that since they don’t mind offending Christians, you will not be purchasing their products this Christmas. Ask them to please use Christmas in their promotion next year.

Mrs Fields now has Christmas stuff up......that was damned fast work on their part.
So I have been hearing that posts about Ron Paul get lots of traffic. I am not a Ron Paul fan (although I do like his message about going by the constitution), so today I decided to post about Ron Paul, kind of like an experiment.
If the Ron Paul Experiment goes well, I may add in other keywords, such as sex. I wonder what kind of traffic a Ron Paul is Sexy post will garner?

What about Ron Paul Free Sex?

I bet that one gets lots of different hits......betcha never thought you'd see those words in the same sentence huh?

I will let you know if the Ron Paul idea works out.
One prominently advertised feature of the Flight 93 Memorial is the "40 Memorial Groves," one for each of the murdered heroes:

    40 Memorial Groves graphic

Why then does the actual design only contain 38?

    Graphic of 38 groves

The Memorial Groves are built into the crescent of what was originally called the Crescent of Embrace. The crescent forms part of the symbolic heavens in architect Paul Murdoch's crescent and star shaped design. Infidels cannot be memorialized in the Islamic heavens, so the 38 Memorial groves have to be a memorial to someone else. Who?

It is a simple geometric fact that a line across the most obtruding tips of the crescent of Memorial Groves points approximately to the White House:

Graphic of White House to crash-site line

A line across the Memorial Groves has the same slope (129° clockwise from north) as a line between the crash site and area of Washington DC that contains the Pentagon, the White House and the Capitol.

Notice also that the 38 groves can be seen as a set of 19 nested crescents. Take two groves away from the arc of 38 and a line across the tips of the remaining 36 will also point to the White House. Ditto for 34 groves, 32, etcetera, down to 2. One nested crescent for each of the nineteen 9/11 terrorists, each pointing to Washington, the specific target of the Flight 93 and Flight 77 terrorists and the symbolic target of all nineteen 9/11 terrorists.

Architect Paul Murdoch proves that he intends the 38 groves to be seen as a set of 19 nested crescents by surrounding the Tower of Voices with its own set of 19 nested crescents:

19 nested crescents in Tower array

The Tower array contains nineteen nested crescents of various lengths, some as short as two trees, the same as with the Memorial Groves. Using arcs as short as two trees long is Murdoch's trick for hiding the number of nested crescents in the Tower array. It isn't until one finds the 19 nested crescents in the Memorial Groves, where the shortest crescent is made up of only 2 groves, that one knows to count the pairs of trees as crescents.

The Tower array also contains four single trees, giving special recognition to the four Flight 93 hijackers.

If anyone wants to think that this is coincidence, that is fine. (If not for all the other Islamic and terrorist memorializing features in the design, it might even be reasonable.) But even if it is coincidence, the American people still need to know that the planned Flight 93 memorial does in fact contain two sets of 19 nested crescents, and decide for themselves whether it is okay that the memorial contain elements like this that can be interpreted as honoring the 9/11 terrorists.

Fuller explanation of the Murdoch's 19-nested-crescents theme here.

What can you do? Some suggestions here.
Jesus Loves You, Allah Wants You Dead
So I haven't been around much, but that all ends now. I am back. And for your enjoyment today we get to see the ACLU smacked down for their sad attempt at getting the Bush administration in trouble for their policy of extraordinary rendition.

It seems a german citizen claimed that the CIA abducted him, drugged him and sent him to9 a prison in a third world country where he was tortured and finally released on a hilltop in another country in a case of mistaken identity.

The Supreme Court yesterday dismissed the case
without comment after the Bush Administration said that if the case were not dismissed it would threaten state secrets.

What I want to know is WHY a group that calls itself the AMERICAN Civil Liberties Union is so concerned with the civil liberties of a german citizen. The last time I checked our civil liberties did not apply to the citizens of other countries, and the ACLU is not the arbiter of international law. We'll ignore the fact for the moment that international law is NOT what our government should worry about when they are making decisions about how bes to protect the country.

In a related story (related because people that obviously care more about their beliefs than the security of this country once again have caused our government to have a harder time tracking our enemies actions) a slip of the lip caused what amounted to an internal Al-Q intranet to shut down when it was revealed that the U.S. Government was watching their sites and gleaning intel from them without them knowing they had their security breached.

The ACLU, the NYT and other groups and organizations that fight against our government on the GWOT are basically attacking freedom and the safety and security of this nation, putting Americans in harms way in their misguided attacks on our governments attempt to track and deal with terrorists.

    What I want to know is this;

When the islamists get control and impose sharia law, will the ACLU have the balls to stand up and say "no way achmed", or do you think it more likely that they will realize that speaking against the caliphate is a death sentence?

I am betting they will shut up and become good little dhimmis.
And no, the "UNion is not a typo....the UN will have a great say in our country's affairs.

Watch former Mexican Presidente mention the "Amero" the uniting of currency between Canada, the U.S. and Mexico:

I was going to call this post "Put Up Or Shut Up, The Master Plan to Utterly Destroy the Democratic Socialists and Rake Hillary and Her Ilk into the Dustbin of History" but that was simply too long of a title.

Like most men I do a little contemplating each and every day, usually while sitting in traffic or on the can. Men think best when they are either under pressure or sitting alone, and I have never known a man to get a good idea while a woman was around unless that idea involved said woman becoming nude at the earliest possible moment, but that is a post for another day.

So today sitting in traffic I came up with an idea so brilliant in its' simplicity, so utterly daring, so astoundingly forward thinking that if we can pull it off we will be considered, in the history books under Ideas that Saved the Republic, second only to the Greatest Generation that saved the world from Jewless Fascism.....or maybe the third greatest if you count the lads that fought the civil war....nono...fourth greatest (can't forget about the Revolution can we?) so we would, if we do this, be the fourth greatest generation of American Patriots ever.

Now before I get into this plan I must say it is going to take serious sacrifice. It is going to take ignoring principles and doing something you never thought you would be doing, but I am convinced that radical times take radical measures, and this plan, once it is unveiled in all its' glory, will save the republic and destroy democratic socialism. When I outline step two you are gonna wanna quit reading, but you must soldier on to step three, for that is where the plan gets brilliant.

Step One: Start hiding assets. Liquidate and hide all assets as soon as possible. The reason for this will become apparent in step three.

Step Two: Vote for Hillary. DON'T STOP READING.

Step Three: The day after Hillary's inauguration get yourself fired, or if you have to just quit.

Step Four: The next day go apply for welfare and/or unemployment. The reason for hiding your assets is that the government only wants to take care of you once you can't take care of yourself, so you are gonna have to at least appear poor.

The Democratic Socialists say they can take care of us from cradle to grave, so I say let's call them on it. Let's refuse to work and let them worry about where all that money is gonna come from to take care of us. The upshot is once us conservatives aren't working we can spend all of our time protesting the government and demanding that they give us that free health care, housing and food that they seem to think are rights and not rewards for a life well lived.

Sure, the economy will crash, the government will fall into chaos and things will get really bad, but once this happens the platform of cradle to grave care that the Democratic Socialists tout will be shown as the dead end nation killing system that it is and we can vote in some real conservatives, get back to work and fix the country, thereby permanently ridding ourselves of the scourge of socialism that is set to ruin this once great republic.

Vote for Hillary. It may be our only chance.

X-Posted at Cao's, Ravens and Stop the ACLU.
Recently schools across the country started banning dangerous activities such as dodge ball, and tag.

Now we have another scourge of childhood that is going to go the way of the dodo, liberty and common sense.

    That's right, hugging.

First off a tip o' me tam to Ogre.

    Now for The Rant:

What kind of kids are we raising? With the reports yesterday out of The Boston Herald about doctors gathering lifestyle information about people from their children during exams to the insane tales of playgrounds banning dodge ball and tag, and now hugs, I fear we are creating a generation of pussified cry-babies that will be more than willing to prattle on to authorities about every little thing that scares them or that is deemed "wrong" or "dangerous."

Here's a short story for you. A friend of mine has a little sister. She was 12 when this happened. This little sister started being a bit rambunctious. Dad put down the hammer and grounded her and threatened, THREATENED to spank her. But the lovely teachers at her school informed her and her classmates that "your parents can't hit you and if they do or say they are going to then call child protective services."

So she did. They came out and told dad in no uncertain terms, "you can't spank her, and if you do we will take her away and put you in jail."

Result? One unruly child that once stated in front of me "You can't tell me what to do or else you will go to jail" as she walked her 14 year old ass out the door at 10 at night to go to a friends house. My advice to dad was give her tough love. Call the cops and have her picked up.

We are raising a generation of sissified cry babies, children brought up with government intrusion and direction at every turn, brainwashed to believe that government is the cure for all that ails you, there from the cradle to the grave.

We are creating a generation of children that, quite simply put, cannot think for themselves. It has been said that Freedom is only one generation from disappearing, that it must be nurtured like a flame lest it go out.

I fear we are watching the last flickering flames of freedom, and when they go out the world will truly be a dark, cold and scary place.

Pennsylvania Newspapers Pretend There is No Direction to Mecca

In September 2005, a half dozen different bloggers verified that a person facing into what was originally called the Crescent of Embrace memorial to Flight 93 would be facing almost exactly at Mecca. Some surrounding trees have been added to the design, but the giant central crescent remains completely intact in the Bowl of Embrace redesign:

With Tom Burnett Sr. condemning the crescent design and refusing to allow Tom Jr.'s name to be used, there is now a big public controversy in western Pennsylvania over whether the giant crescent really is oriented on Mecca. In response, the Memorial Project has decided to deny that there is any such thing as the direction to Mecca, and Pittsburgh's two major newspapers are both backing up this transparent falsehood.

Professor Daniel Griffith, who is serving as a consultant to the Memorial Project, told the Post Gazette that: "anything can point toward Mecca, because the earth is round." …

He made similar statements to the Pittsburg Tribune Review and the Johnstown Tribune Democrat. None of these papers asked for a second opinion from any of the one billion Muslims who face Mecca five times a day for prayer, and it isn't that the media has been duped by Griffith.

Editors and reporters at both the Post Gazette and the Tribune Review are fully aware that a host of bloggers have independently verified the Mecca orientation of the crescent design. It was actually the Tribune Review that first commissioned Professor Griffith to analyze the blogosphere's Mecca-orientation claims. Alec Rawls, who has written a book about the many Islamic and terrorist memorializing features in the crescent design, has a copy of Griffith's report for the Tribune Review posted online. The first thing Griffith does is calculate the direction to Mecca:
I computed an azimuth value from the Flight 93 crater site to Mecca of roughly 55.20°.
"Azimuth" is the technical term for "direction," measured in degrees clockwise from north. Now Griffith is denying that there is any such thing as the direction to Mecca, and the Tribune Review refuses to tell its readers that Griffith is contradicting the report that he wrote for them.

The Post Gazette is even more outrageous. Rawls was told by Post Gazette reporter Paula Ward that she and her editors saw all the blog posts on the Mecca orientation of the Crescent of Embrace back in September 2005 and decided not to publish this explosive information. (Crescent of Betrayal, download 3, p. 108.) At the same time, the Post Gazette was running editorials that called critics of the crescent paranoid bigots:

But like those who look at innocent kids trick-or-treating at Halloween and see only the devil's work, a few small and suspicious minds couldn't look past the crescent to see a remarkably sensitive design.
When Tom Burnet Sr. asked the American people last month to please take his and Mr. Rawls' warnings about the crescent design seriously, the Post Gazette responded with an editorial titled: "Efforts to sully Flight 93 memorial deserve scorn."

What is the significance of a crescent that a person faces into to face Mecca? Such a structure is called a mihrab, and is the central feature around which every mosque is built. That is why the surrounding trees added in the Bowl of Embrace redesign do nothing to alter the Islamic significance of the design. You can plant as many trees around a mosque as you want and it will still be a mosque.

One local paper actually did fact-check the orientation of the giant crescent and validated the Mecca orientation claim in print, but the larger papers are all refusing to pass this fact checking on, or to do their own, even though it is simple one-two operation. All that Tribune Democrat reporter Kirk Swauger had to do was use the Mecca direction calculator at to print out a graphic of the direction to Mecca from Somerset PA, then place this print out over the Crescent of Embrace site-plan PDF on his computer screen:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The green circle, marked with the qibla direction (the direction to Mecca), is from Graphic shows that a person standing at the midpoint between the most obtruding tips of the crescent structure and facing into the center of the crescent (red arrow), will be facing almost exactly at Mecca. (Hat tip Sarah Wells.)

As Swauger put it in his news article:

[Rawls'] claims seem to be backed up by coordinates for the direction of qibla from Somerset that can be found on When superimposed over the crescent in the memorial design, the midpoint points over the Arctic Circle, through Europe toward Mecca.
Having suppressed this information for two years, Pittsburgh's major newspapers are desperate to keep it suppressed now, or they will be ruined. Thus they find themselves camped out on the very spot that the blogosphere ranged with its artillery two years ago. They know full well that the Mecca-orientation of the crescent has been verified numerous times and are counting on their control of public information to keep this knowledge from getting out to the general public.

The challenge to bloggers could not be more overt. Can the blogosphere retrieve its earlier fact checking from the memory hole and bust these news frauds? Easy and permanent access to existing fact checking is the blogosphere's natural advantage, but we still have to take advantage of it.

This information was also mentioned at Newsbusters here on September 27, 2007.

    Let's roll.

    Stop the Memorial Blogburst

    Riddle me this

What was Paul Murdoch, the design's architect, thinking? What was his ulterior motive? When controversy over the original name "Crescent of Embrace" and the bald Islamic symbol planted on the crash site brought a public outcry, the entire memorial was hastily re-titled "40 Memorial Groves."

As Alec is apt to do, he's having some fun with this: So why only 38 Memorial Groves?

His answer should appear today at Error Theory, go check it out!
I want a mean assed hard nosed that doesn't have a shred of political correctness....

I want a President that tells the illegals to go the hell home....and helps them on their way without mercy....

I want a President that tells the islamists in no uncertain terms that they either knock the crap off or it's gonna be time to start glassing over muzzie villages....and then pointedly takes out an atoll in the Pacific with a missile launched from a submarine in the Atlantic while eating his Cap'n Crunch on a lazy Sunday morning in the Oval office while wearing his Presidential P.J.'s....and shows it all live on Fox News, just to make the point....

I want a President that will tell the dems in congress to stop lying and stealing and the republicans that can't get their stuff together to get the hell out of the party and stop making us look bad....

I want a President that will yell at reporters when they ask stupid partisan questions, a President that will tell that old bag Helen Thomas to shut her ugly pie hole and get the hell outta the white house until she learns to act like a human that cares for this country....

I want a President that will tell the Saudis to clean up their mess or we're gonna do it and we'll start with Mecca....

I want a President that will tell the Mexican president to sit down, shut up and stop sending us his citizens....and then bills Mexico for what they have cost us so far....

I want a President that will tell the ACLU and other leftist groups that if they continue being treasonous gits we're gonna start deporting people to countries we think they would like based on their rhetoric, such as Libya, Syria, China or Sudan....and then start doing it....

I want a President that gets mad and literally tells people to shut the hell up....and isn't afraid of doing just that

I want a President that goes out shooting every Sunday after church with the white house press pool.....just to show them what he is capable of doing.....

I want a president that literally scares the hell out of our enemies and causes them to freeze with fear and actually wonder what he'd do to them if they crossed him......

In short I want a President that has some balls and a big bunch of anger and is willing to call it like he sees it and doesn't worry about image or political correctness....perchance to dream eh?
    Refugees pose 'potential crisis'

Now this headline could come from anywhere, but when I tell you where it comes from you're gonna say "WTF, mate?"

When I tell you who the "refugees" are your gonna laugh at the utter stupidity of it all.

    Ready for this?

The headline comes from CANADA, and it's about (drumroll please) MEXICAN ILLEGAL ALIENS FLEEING THE U.S.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously. Illegal aliens from Mexico are fleeing into Canada due to pressure from the Dept of Homeland Security, and the Canadians don't know how to handle it.

Can you think of anything more surreal?

It seems the NYT is now covering this story also

Here is a few choice quotes from that article, just for amusement. Manuel Gonzales, 46, when speaking of Canada said:

“Maybe they’ll have compassion for us, all we want to do is live and follow the rules and work hard. What we didn’t have in the United States we had here in a second.”

Ohohoh...I am so heartbroken that Manuel "Labore" Gonzales couldn't find peace and quiet in the U.S. after sneaking in here and living ILLEGALLY!!!!

But here's my favorite part of the article:
Carina Gonzalez, who drove her red Suburban from Naples a few weeks ago, said she had lived in the United States for 10 years. When she reached a customs agent as she crossed into Canada, she recalled, she felt deeply nervous but also relieved.

Ms. Gonzalez said that she had worked in a grocery store in the United States but that her employers had been asking more and more questions about her documents and her legal status.

“I could smell the freedom when I crossed over,” said Ms. Gonzalez, 25. “I don’t know what’s going to happen next, but the pressure of worrying about getting caught never let you sleep well.”

    all emphasis mine

Now, first off she had a suburban. By far not a cheap car to own or run, even if it is an older model. Second, she was living in the U.S. for 10 years, working at a grocery of those jobs that Americans just won't do?

So she could smell the freedom in Canada that she couldn't smell in the U.S.? Good deal.......let's tell all of the illegal aliens about this "asylum" and let canada worry about deporting them by the millions and while they are busy doing that we can build our wall. BTW Carina.....I am glad you lost sleep while you were a "guest" in our country.....maybe if more people felt scared to be here illegally it wouldn't happen so much.

One last thing. The fellow at the Jerusalem Haiti Community Center that is charging these illegals 300 bux to fill our a refugee application and giving them directions to canada? Brilliant. Wish I had thought of it. Sheer Genius, good for America and capitalistic all in one swell foop.

    Good on ya mate......
Over at the daily POS (whom I refuse to link to) one of the leftists "diarists" (which is funny because that word is so close to "diarrhea", which is what basically spews from their pot-holes that constantly yak and lie) has finally admitted what we have been saying all along:

We do not function as well as we would in our daily lives. We are more anxious. We are more depressed. We are more fearful.

And we are less capable of making rationale decisions.

    emphasis mine

Well we knew this. We've been saying for awhile that they can't make rationale decisions and are cowards.

Gld one of em finally admitted it.
Six years ago today our country was attacked by islamic extremists.

The attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and the failed attack on the White House were, to date, the most successful attack yet by the islamists that have declared war on us, vowing to destroy us and make the world islamic.

We are facing a dedicated and ruthless foe who believe they are doing G-ds work and are blessed in their actions, and they will not stop until we defeat them on every front around the entire globe. Our first and best defense against this threat is to hunt them down and kill them, alot, where ever they are hiding at, without apology, without mercy and without fail.

To do anything less is to invite more attacks.

These are the people who follow an ideology rooted in a backwards, misogynistic, 8th century religion, a group that has not only vowed our destruction and subjugation, but have shown us, in stark detail what happens to those that don't go along with their plan or oppose them, as evidenced by Daniel Pearl and so many others whom we have watched being beheaded while tied up and held down, screaming, then gurgling for their lives.

These are the sick bastards that teach their children that the highest action they can take is strapping on a bomb vest and blowing themselves up in a pizza joint or a bus full of innocents, and killing just one Jew is the surest way to curry favor with their damnable moon god and find paradise.

These people are mentally ill. Being a parent my number one job is protecting my child, not teaching him that killing himself is OK as long as he takes at least other person whom we think is evil with him. What kind of mindset must it take to raise your child to destroy themselves while killing another human being?

And today, of all days, should be the day that we remember not only those who have fallen in this war, but why we are fighting this war, and what the cost of defeat will be.

We are fighting this war on every front we can, while trying to teach the arab world that there is a better way, if they could only let go of old hatreds and learn to work together.

Frankly I think that may be a mistake. Personally I think we should institute a new policy of going after the families of suicide bombers. We should teach these barbaric assholes that if you are going to try to get to paradise by blowing yourself up, then we will do everything in our power to make sure that every family member we can find will follow you as soon as possible.

No more of this "I go to paradise and mom gets money" crap. It needs to be "I go to paradise and mom and little sister and uncle habib and auntie samira and little cousin achmed get it too."

And this weekend, in our nations capital, thousands will march demanding an end to this war, completely ignoring the fact that they are basically calling for the defeat of our troops in the field, and further endangering our country, all the while claiming to support those very same troops, the troops that are out fighting the islamic militant bastards that would see us destroyed and subjugated and bowing in fear of being beheaded.

    Six short years have passed.

    Six revolutions around the sun.

By my quick calculations that is 2191 days.

Two thousand nine hundred and seventy four people are listed as killed that day in those attacks.

We are going to be at war a lot longer too, and many more people are going to die, and many of them are going to fall into the "innocent" category. I would prefer if those on the innocent side were not part of the casualties, but since that is inevitable then may it be the ones that support those that stand against us, and not those that stand with us.

Never forget. May God Bless Our soldiers, our country and our freedom, and give us the will and courage to fight always against the foes that would see us enslaved or dead.
