***I was bored after writing this and was clicking through every blog on the blorroll for Terri and skimming through th efrst few lines when this caught my attention. Becki Snows blog is reporting that a woamn got arrested trying to take terri water. I thought this would happen, but hadn't heard of it until now...I am no longer bored...I am now mad again and going to take a wlak in the dark, windy rainy night to cool off***

Out of all of the blogosphere and all of those hits, (of which 14 have hit my blog from that search term in the last few days), you would think that there would be alot of pages above my little crappy spot o'cyber real estate....but I am at number seven.......go figure...really, I would have thought that people that get many more hits than I do would have written "michael schiavo sucks"....especially in the last few days.

So OK, I am bored, cruising the 'sphere and not really feeling the desire to beat on moonbats and some random thoughts have flown through my head in the last few hours......like;

isn't Viagra simply a penis enlargement drug with a very short term effect, (no that was not a freudian thing)...

and I saw a commercial today for toilet paper while waiting for news of terri....and in it they showed how only four of the sheets of their brand soaked up the same amount of blue liquid as six sheets of the competitors brand...now I don't know about you, but I don't need a demonstration of TP soaking up liquid....if I am having to soak up liquid with TP either my son has spilled juice and that is the closest paper or something is seriously wrong and I am calling 911.....

so I think that plastic backed TP would be a good idea....less of a mental thing about making sure their is enough paper between your hand and...well anyway...that Idea may actually lead to even less people washing their hands after using the facilities....and you know what I hate?

I hate cheap TP....that kind you get in the heads at concerts and ballgames...you know the kind? It's on a roll that isn't round so it won't roll....(maybe they shouldn't call it a 'roll' of TP in these cases huh?)...and no matter how hard you try to get a longer piece of it you get exactly four square inches of TP because this stuff tears easier than wet tissue paper...and you need to start tearing it off as soon as you sit down because it takes about that long to get enough to use....if you start when you are done you're in there another 5 minutes.......

you know what else I hate? (WARNING****NON PC RANT***WARNING)

I hate handicapped drivers....I don't hate them personally of course.....I hate the way they drive....and not the folks with the handicap placards NOOO....the ones with the hanicap LICENSE PLATES......I don't know about where you are but out here in Cali. the people that have those plates CANNOT drive......they go too slow....the ride the line.....they sit forEVER at a green light and I sit back there and wonder if they can't see the light or maybe they are REALLY paranoid about someone running the opposing red.....I believe that here in Cali. you don't get a handicapped license plate for actually being handicapped...for those people the DMV gives out placards that hang on rearview mirrors.....I think that the people here that have those plates get them because during their driving test they terrified the tester so badly that not only is the tester afraid of failing them because of their bad driving but they are scared of them for some other reason....so they pass them and give them a special plate to warn the rest of us.......

Funny thing about it is that these folks don't drive like a pissed off aggressive person that you would think would be the kind of person to scare a DMV tester into giving them a license....that is what makes them so scary...they don't seem mean....but still they have a license when it is obvious from their driving that they shouldn't......

I guess this is one of those times that the phrase "watch out for the quiet ones" probably applies really well.....and if that is a true statement that you must "watch out for the quiet ones" then imagine how safe I actually am......

I am bored...ther are now 336 blogs or websites in the blogroll for terri...I think I signed up at number 70 someething if I remember my count correctly....so I count things sometimes.....a bit of OCD I am sure.....but I I ever go blind at least I know how many steps it is to my mailbox....(98)...not that it would do me any good, being blind I couldn't really read the mail.....hhhmmm...hadn't thought of that one...well, I guess I need a new reason for knowing how far it is to the mailbox huh?

I present for your education some politicking that has slipped under the radar and needs a bit of light shed on it.

This bill provides for the US to aid poor countries in building a better, safer and more reliable water infrastructure, which I admit sounds noble.

During fiscal year 2004, the United States provided an estimated $817,000,000 in assistance to the Water for the Poor Initiative, including funds made available for reconstruction activities in Iraq, of which $388,000,000 was made available for safe drinking water and sanitation programs.

OK, so almost one billion dollars isn't really a big drop in our bucket these days, especially considering that illegal immigration costs well over 30 billion a year.

But here is where it gets scary.

(18) The United Nations General Assembly Resolution 58/217 of February 9, 2004, proclaimed `the period from 2005 to 2015 the International Decade for Action, `Water for Life', to commence on World Water Day, 22 March 2005' for the purpose of increasing the focus of the international community on water-related issues at all levels and on the implementation of water-related programs and projects.

The UN is involved.

There is some good news in the bill......if you happen to own a multi-national company that deals in water systems, such as Seuz (french), or RWE-Themes or Violia.

`(4) ADDITIONAL CRITERIA- In making determinations of eligibility under this subsection, the President should give preferential consideration to projects sponsored by or significantly involving United States small businesses or cooperatives.

My advice? As an American I would but stock in the companies that deal in this stuff, so keep your eyes and ears open and watch for the companies that are going to vye for these contracts. American citizens can get rich while we bring water to the world. I like the sound of that idea.

But these companies that are going to vie for this kind of contract are most likely the companies that provide equipment to your local water company.


It goes on, way down at the bottom of the bill:

SEC. 6. AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS.

(a) IN GENERAL- There are authorized to be appropriated for each of the fiscal years 2006 through 2011 such sums as may be necessary to carry out this Act and the amendments made by this Act.

(b) OTHER AMOUNTS- Amounts appropriated pursuant to the authorization of appropriations in subsection (a) shall be in addition to the amounts otherwise available to carry out this Act and the amendments made by this Act.


In other words the money is legislated to be there.....but from where?

The bill also says:
SEC. 5. SAFE WATER STRATEGY.
(4) methods to mobilize and leverage the financial, technical, and managerial expertise of businesses, governments, nongovernmental, and civil society in the form of public-private alliances such as the Global Development Alliances of the Agency which encourage innovation and effective solutions for improving sustainable access to safe water and sanitation;

This is where it gets really wonky for me.

The whole "public-private" thing.

So far here is a brief round-up of private water company troubles here in the US.

It seems that Atlanta GA., New Orleans LA. and Stockton CA. have had some probems with their outsourcing of water problems, so this must be a bad thing to privatize these public resources that should be available for all, and since they should be available for all it definitly shouldn't be at the hands of some corporation that looks at a dwindling resource such as water with the same greed that oil barons of a century and a half ago eyed the black gold seeping out of the ground in Pennsylvania

After all, public ownership and control always make for the best and most efficient system right?

I mean really, what has a private company ever done to lower costs and get a product or resource to the people?

Right, just as I thought, absolu....huh? Well, yes, dear quick thinking reader, there is a certain efficiency in a profit motive...but this is water we're talking about here......it isn't like oil...I mean where would the incentive be to get water to people dependably and affordably for profit?

I mean really people come on here wake up and smell the coffee...coffee brewed with fresh clean water that literally runs from your faucet when you turn a handle. How can a water company ever survive in the free market?

Or any utility company for that matter?

Private ownership of public utilities????

What is this world coming to????

Next thing I will hear is that some god-awful private company is making and selling me electricity at some horrendously low price!!!

Private ownership never did anything good for anybody......just ask all those big multi-national corporations.

My niece is 17.

She speaks three languages.

She has our Grandmas middle name.

She has a black belt in tae kwon do.

She stands up for what she believes is right.

Case in point, an older brother of a troublesome classmate of my nieces' followed my niece onto the school bus one day, trying to pick a fight with her for standing up for another little girl that his little sister was picking on. It was a racial thing. I wish I could say it wasn't but the entire thing started with racial remarks.

My niece is mixed.

And I have never cared.

I fell in love with her the moment I saw her. She was born on New Years Day. My sister went into labor on New Years Eve and absolutely RUINED my party plans. I have never cared about that lost party...well not after I saw my niece.

Back to the story....the boy walked on the bus, three years older than my niece, and tries to pick a fight. She warned him to get off of the bus and leave her alone.

He made the mistake of poking her in the shoulder.

She dropped him...and almost got expelled. My sister went to the school to defend her daughter, and the boy that she dropped came walking into the office with his father. Now at this point you should know that my sister was in Sicily with her family because my brother in law is a career Navy man, and was just put up for Chief, but that is another tale....so this kid walks in with his dad, who had to get him from the hospital apparently, and once the dad (USMC) found out that he actually tried to start a fight with a thirteen year old girl he got even madder than he already was at his son for getting his ass kicked.

She didn't get expelled.

I have always been inordinately proud of my family members, and my niece makes it easier all the time. If she never did another thing I would still be prouder than words could express.

Now I have received word that she has been inducted into the National Honor Roll.

As is her humble, unassuming way, she didn't call me to tell me that. Good thing too, because I probably would have cried upon hearing the news

So if ever you fear for the future of our country, remember there are kids out there like my niece, kicking ass, taking names and doing it for all the "right" reasons.

Here's to you Tiffany Mae....a big hug and a kiss from your overly proud uncle that loves you more than I can say.

I just found out that my niece has actually been in the honor society for four years and is in the who's who of highschool students this year. I am learning all kinds of stuff today, and she was inducted into the national JR. Honors society in 2000.

You can always play another game, run in another election or race another day, but this loss is a loss of life, and that cannot be replaced.

Of course the questions I bring up will most likely be hotly contested and outright attacked by those sympathetic to the lilypad and maybe even those that reside there, but we will bomb that bridge when we fly over it.

PARIS - A French court convicted six men Tuesday in an alleged plot inspired by al-Qaida to send a suicide bomber into the U.S. Embassy in Paris, closing a six-week trial that shed light on the spread of Islamic radicals in Europe.


Now did we see this coming or what? Will you folks on the other side of the pond please listen to us and see the danger you are in now? Or will you continue or appeasing ways hoping that these guys will leave you alone. I know, you're gonna point out that the target was the American embassy. Do you think that no french people work there? Or do you think that they get what they deserve for working for the evil Americans?

All six were convicted of "criminal association in relation with a terrorist enterprise," a charge commonly used in terrorism cases in France that, because of its sweeping nature, can facilitate conviction.

Hhhmmm..."criminal association in relation with a terrorist enterprise"...sounds like a sweeping charge to me, as if anything you wanted to make stick could, even something as simple as being related to a terrorist.

"Proof, we have none. There are no documents, no conversation," said Beghal's lawyer, Jean-Alain Michel. He denounced the trial as a "judicial parody."

Where is all that peaceful french outrage? They sure bitch loudly enough about Gitmo, but now the french are jailing terrorist scum without "documents" or even "conversation". Sounds like a railroading to me.

However, the prosecution argued that Beghal was part of a web of Islamic militants stretching across five European countries with the center of gravity in Afghanistan.

See? At least some of the french authorities are getting it. They are recognizing how widespread the threat is, and acting on it. I daresay that this may be one of the reasons that france did send soldiers to Afghanistan, as they realized the need, given the next bit.

The investigation was opened Sept. 10, 2001, a day before the terror attacks on the United States, and revealed what amounts to a new generation of Islamic militants in France, distinct from Algerian Islamic insurgents responsible for deadly Paris bombings in the mid-1990s.

Maybe now the french will realize what America realized on 9-11 and the Dutch realized after Theo Van Gogh was brutally murdered in the street, namely that there can be no quarter with these dogs, they are rabid and must be killed. Actually now that the french have convicted these guys they had better watch out.....these guys hate having their cohorts locked up.

"This affair is revelatory of a Europeanization of terror groups," prosecutor Christophe Teissier said in his six-hour closing arguments.

In a separate case, involving support for Muslim Chechen rebels, police Tuesday arrested two suspects for a reported plan to attack Russian targets in France, judicial officials said.

Does anyone remember how the russians handled these guys in Afghanistan? They kidnapped them and killed them, mutilating their bodies in embarrassing ways and tossed them on the streets. How do you think they will handle them now? Do you think perhaps the russians are more "enlightened" these days and will hunt them down and arrest them? Don't bet your rubles on that.

Some 20 people are under investigation in the Chechen case, most arrested in late 2002. The new arrests were made in Grenoble and the Lyon suburb of Venissieux, home to four members of a single family implicated in the plot, the officials said.

They are living amongst you. Heed that warning. Or not. If you don't we won't want to hear you crying about it ok?

The Paris trial largely hinged on a confession by Beghal to authorities in the United Arab Emirates after his July 2001 arrest. However, he retracted the confession after his extradition to France in September 2001, and testified that it had been extracted through torture that included the insertion of instruments like knitting needles into his genitals.

I want to know who (allegedly) tortured him? Maybe they called in the US military eh?

The French probe revealed a web of suspect relations that included Abu Qatada, the London-based radical Muslim cleric described by British officials as Osama bin Laden's "spiritual ambassador in Europe."

An internet radio station that was unconstrained by the normal limitations of regular radio, such as broadcasting distance, advertising considerations that may censor content and, at the moment, FCC considerations?

What would you say to an internet radio station like that?

Would you like that?

And what if it had a musical bent dealing with only unsigned, independent artists, with an emphasis on something besides hip-hop, pop and other mainstream radio?

It sure does to me.

I firmly believe that God places you where you need to be, when you need to be there, and one simply must be able to recognize the door when it gets flung open in front of you so you can run through and take advantage of what is in that room.

I also believe that God puts us here to help each other.

I have been in discussions with the owner of xradio.biz, which is linked in the title.

They deal with indy music, and are branching out into other genres. I was approached by one of their agents who happens to be a fellow I know. He knows that I have alot of musician friends that just need an outlet, and thought I would like to do a show focusing on their music.

I have a better idea. I want to do an internet radio talk show, with an outlook from the right side of the street.
And I need your help.

It will take, with location, (industrial unit) equipment and training plus support, (provided by enexes.com, the parent company of xradio.biz), about 40,000 dollars to start this station.

That will cover costs for awhile.

I get between 50 and 60 hits a day, but there are millions of surfers out there.

I want to spread the word about this idea. I want everybody to donate a dollar. One dollar. That isn't alot of money for a person to donate, but added up it puts us on the road to having an internet radio station that you can listen to at home or at work, one that will cover the issues mainstream radio won't cover. An internet radio station, streaming live to you wherever you may be in the world, that can give much needed attention to issues that guys like Limbaugh, Savage, Boortz, and others can't comment on through time constraints or advertiser consideration.

Imagine Terri's fight with that much more weight behind it. Imagine the issues facing bloggers today (possible restrictions on our free speech) being given not only a voice on our blogs via the written word, but an actual live voice, bringing up-to-the-moment information through the speakers of, not only your computer, but computers around the world.

Think about it.

One of the stat trackers I use is site meter. Recently sitemeter started running ads when I am checking stats. I PAY for this service, and I sent them an email asking about this development. So far no response. I am sooooo not happy.

While checking stats I noticed that a visitor was referred by Pia's little pink slice of unreality over at 'courting destiny'. I read through the comments in the post that referred my little visitor, and noticed that it was a thread I had commented on.

It was a rambling little post that would have gone almost unnoticed by me but somehow I ended up there, and made a comment. In that post she said some things about Cao and commented about Terri Schiavo, saying:

Now to be fair in that two day span I did manage to piss this drooler off, but really folks......does this girl not realize that she is just feeding the bear?

My son is five years old, and a bit ahead of the pack for his age. This is not by accident. Mostly I have been a stay at home dad since he was born. Since we live in a somewhat rural area and he has no siblings his interaction with other children was sparse when he was younger. I worked with him alot between birth and two and a half years of age. But still he was deprived in the sense that he rarely had other kids his age to play with, and that bothered me and I knew something had to be done.

At the age of two and a half we enrolled him in a Montesorri school. I won't explain it here, you can look it up. My wife and I did our research and found the Montesorri system to be to our liking. He got to work at his own pace and interact with other kids and they also stressed such mundane skills as cleaning up after yourself and helping to keep the classroom clean as well. (those little brooms and dustpans are so cute)

His school has decided to test the kids using a test equivalent to the state test. His school, being quasi-private, (they have a government sponsored program for poor kids) isn't allowed, for some reason, to use the state test and have the results tallied against the state scores.

One problem that kids from montesorri schools have when they enter public school is a complete lack of test taking abilities. So to say that this week preparing for the tests ahs been interesting is a major understatement. These are kids that are used to raising their hand and saying what the answer is when they know it, rarely waiting to be called on to answer.

See? The teacher, in preparing the kids for this test, is reading the problem out loud, so the last three days has been a task to get the children to keep the answer to themselves. The first day of this showed little progress, after all, it is habit to these kids to call out the answer. There are 12 kids in my sons kindergarten class and he is one of those that is being tested across the board, no holds barred, on the first grade level. (they have no state kindergarten test)

It seems that my son, along with a couple of the other advanced kids figured out early tuesday that the kids that weren't getting the answers were waiting on those that did to call it out and then writing down the correct answer. In short, these other kids were, technically, cheating.

The advanced kids in the class, one of which is my son, apparently have come up with a plan to stop the other kids from cheating. I was informed this evening at the PTO meeting, (I am president by force of this group), by the administrator of the school no less, a shorter version of the story you have just read, along with this astounding bit.

My son and his advance cohorts have taken to writing the correct answer and calling out an incorrect answer, all the while smiling at each other while the other kids quickly scribble in the correct bubble on the practice sheet.

The administrators eyewitness account of this tale from today almost brought a tear to my eye because I was that proud of my son for peacefully stopping other kids from cheating off of him.

The following is her tale of what happened while she was watching the test prep go on today:

The Purple Flew!!!!

I have spoken of the crew in my head a few times, but rarely on this blog.

Today that changes, as I am going to introduce you to The Crew in My Head.

Before you start thinking that I have gone completely insane let me assure you, I have been there for many years. I believe we all have crews in our heads you see, only I am in touch with mine, whereas most people think that the crew in their head is simply "conscience", "morality" and "inner dialogue".

The crew in your head runs these things:
Thoughts on what you see.
Your Belief System.
Your Reactions.
Your Feelings.
Your Psyche.

Now, the crew in your head has a hierarchy, like the military and government. Really, where did you think people got the ideas on how to structure things? From the crew in their head.

At the top of the command structure is, of course, The Commander.
The Commander is more of a figure head, only stepping in to make decisions when it is truly warranted. Most of the time he is usually sleeping though since all of the Commanders work has been delegated to lesser members of the crew.

Below the Commander are the Section Chiefs. There are five of these, one for each thing the crew in your head handles. They report to the Commander when they catch him awake, which gets more rare the older you get.

The grunt work on the crew in your head is done by the Department Chiefs, of which there are ten for each Section Chief, with the exception of Your Psyche, which only has one Department Chief due to the minimal amount of work that is involved because they only process and interpret the data that all the other departments collect and then secretly assign strange reactions and neurosis' to counter and or complement this data.

The Department Chiefs are in charge of the moment to moment handling of ALL data that flows into you through your senses. Note: Each dept., except Psyche, has a chief assigned to each of the five senses, as each sense receives the same data, but each dept. translates that data by the parameters of their assigned program.

Following are the responsibilities of each department.

BELIEF SYSTEM:
This system is responsible for what you BELIEVE. It takes in the data from what you hear and see and translates this information to feelings. This information is then sent to the Logic Processing Center. If the Logic Processing Center, (run by one section chief from the first FOUR departments, psyche has no logic support) deems the new beliefs to be logical and agreeable by the Logic Committee then they are programmed into the "Pattern" and become automatic processes. This dept. mostly deals with what is SEEN and HEARD, although as was previously pointed out, there are Dept. Chiefs assigned assigned to each sense.

REACTIONS:
This system is responsible for how you REACT to the outside world. The section chiefs in this dept. are tasked with a high amount of data at every waking moment and it is a very important dept. They take the data your senses provide and run them through a "History" program. If the sensory data meets criteria for a previously encountered event, standard protocols are enacted, (i.e hot=don't touch). If this data is new then a program that runs the data against the "Feelings and Thoughts" protocol is used to decide HOW you should react to it. For example if it is a physical sensation then the "pleasure/pain" subroutine is the first program used, however if it is auditory then the "commonsense" subroutine runs, cross referencing with the "knownfacts" data base.

There is another program that runs at this time IF the sense is auditory AND the Feelings Section has received this information and linked programs they are running, (Feelings Programs to be discussed below) and this program actually affects the "Reactions" by judging if the source is someone that the system wants to engage in coitus. If the source does meet that criteria then a subprogram is run weighing the factors of "Hotness" plus "Chance of Success" and rates the value of the sources input to come up with a "Tolerance Factor". This "Tolerance Factor" is highly susceptible to corruption by alcohol and the last time the "Sleep Program" was used.

If the "Tolerance Factor" is high enough then the sources input is either filed away for later retrieval or outright deleted, and the "Coital Program" starts and accesses the "Chance Enhancement Program" which is tasked with supporting the "Coital Program" to it's successful conclusion. (Note, in many men the "Coital Program" is immediately shut down by the "Sleep/Flee" program, especially if it has been corrupted by alcohol, at the moment the "Coital Program" reaches a successful conclusion.)

FEELINGS:
This system is responsible for what you FEEL, not only physically but also emotionally. This system is over developed in leftists of all stripes, but seems to b particularly so in those with a "HIGH SOCIALIST REACTIONARY VIRUS", (HSRV) which is a viral infection that corrupts the "Logic" program.

On a basic level this system takes all physical data and runs it through the "history" program, comparing data from past experiences and, if necessary, shunting the data back to the "Reaction" system for action.

On a deeper level this program takes retrieved data and runs it through the "History" program and cross references it through the Beliefs Database and runs a "Logic Protocol" on the data to either bring up old programs that have dealt with this data or creates new routines to deal with the new data. In leftists of all stripes research is showing a corrupted "Logic Protocol" and an inability for the programs to create new protocols for new data.

In those on the right the "Logic Protocol Program" seems to be the first program accessed, and has a tendency to cause a subprogram ("Disbelief") to run when confronted with those who seem to have (HSRV) infected thought processes.

The Physical and Emotional routines do run in conjunction quite often. Usually they are running in conjunction when visual data is received and run through the "Coital Program" and if the results are suitable, the "Mate Program". The "Mate Program" is always run secondary to the "Coital Program" as the "Coital Program" is a superior program run by the master "Instinct/Survival" program.

As noted above, these programs are highly corruptible by alcohol and lack of a timely Sleep Program.

PSYCHE:
This is a little understood system, although there are a great many people that claim to understand it. This system is responsible for all Subconscious and Unconscious programs, and is manifested mostly during Sleep programs, although leftists have been shown to manifest certain Psyche program malfunctions when confronted by such programs as "Truth", however this is probably a side effect of their "Logic Protocol Program" needing to be erased and rebooted.

There is of course a "bridge" where all data input is routed through, sorted, sifted, analyzed and acted on or deleted.

This "bridge", or "control room" is where the inner voice comes from. Basically it consists of the Section Chiefs that discuss the input and the results of the data as it compares to past experiences and that is also where conclusions are drawn, actions finalized and responses generated.

As you can no doubt tell, my "bridge" has a very good Sarcasm program that runs the subprograms of Pissiness and Dismissal on a regular basis.

I can't seem to get a comment to post over in the lilypad....maybe it's a connection thing----maybe it's just a glitch in the system---or maybe someone finally banned me....is that cool or what?

The only thing that bugs me about it is I didn't get listed as a "facist asshole" by them.....I guess I am not facist enough, because I know I am enough of an asshole:D

UPDATE.....If I am banned I owe it to you to explain how I found out. You see the slimy amphibians over there just tend to make me laugh at the unreal view they have of the world, and they posted about that italian journalists that was "kidnapped" and then almost killed by our troops when they approached a US checkpoint "at speed" on the most dangerous road in Iraq, at night, with no warning they were coming....anyway I decided to post a comment about that post, but have been unable to. I have decided that since I can't post it there I will post the comment here.

...has inspired me to post a long overdue tribute to a great man that I was lucky enough to call friend. I met Bill when I was 12 years old at Del Mar racetrack. It was the summer of '81 and he was a "pony boy". Those are the guys on horses that lead the runners to the post in the afternoons. I was a royal pain in the ass to the pony people that summer. A nosy kid with a million questions and a smart assed attitude, and even though they picked on me they also admired my pluck and I still call several of them friend.

Bill was a Viet Nam vet, and a highly decorated one at that. He was also one of the best horsemen I have ever known, and was fond of saying "If it has hair I can ride it, just as long as it's a horse or a woman."

Bill passed away towards the end of '03, of a massive heart attack in his sleep. When our friend Les found him that morning he had to take Bills dog Bandit away so the paramedics could pronounce him. Bandit wasn't letting those guys in at all.

I admire loyalty like that, and so did Bill. That may be one of the reasons we stayed friends from the day I met him until the day he died. Bill was outspoken in our little world of the "backside" of the racetrack. He despised the illegals that flooded the horse racing world and let them knwo it every chance he could.

He especially hated the guatamalens. They had a habit of throwing used toilet paper on the floor, due to the fact that where they came from the sewer system couldn't handle the paper, so their habit was to toss it down.

When Bill passed I was asked to do the eulogy. I had hired a piper and the cemetary had an Honor Guard present.
I wrote a eulogy, planning to read it at the funeral. I didn't. I couldn't. Only my trusty flask gave me the composure to say a few words and ask his other friends to step up and relate stories of Bill. We laughed alot that day. Bill would have liked that.

Here is what I didn't read that day:



He called me Wart. From about the very first time I met him, he called me Wart. Not in a mean way, but because that is what Merlin called young Arthur while Arthur was under the old mages' tutelage. I have always considered it a compliment. That he should see in me a great potential like that astounded me, and made us friends.

There is no possible way to compress 22 years of friendship into words. It simply cannot be done when you have a friend like him. And as I stand here, squinting through the tears, I smile at the antics we pulled. At the jokes, the mornings having coffee, the late afternoon barbeques at Del Mar, at the way he could tell someone in spanish about their mother and the goat.

He is a hero of this country, who suffered from his service, having recurring flashbacks throughout the rest of his life after he was in the Army...he loved his horses, his dogs, his fishing, and truly cherished those few lucky people he called friend.

He was a cowboy to the bone and a Patriot through and through. He won numerous medals in service to this country. While leading a seek and destroy mission in mid 1966, he and his men came under fire as soon as they hit the LZ, with his men badly outnumbered, he crawled through heavy enemy fire, and while hunkered down just 10 meters from the enemy, he directed fire and then called in a mortar attack on his own position. He was wounded, as were two of his men, but they survived, and he was awarded The Bronze Star, received for heroism in combat...he also earned The Silver Star, and flew on 25 missions, in a 28 hour span, through enemy airspace, manning a gun on a helicopter to earn The Air Medal.

Two Army Commendation Medals were awarded him for his exemplary example to his comrades in arms, to quote one of his citations, "he has consistently returned outstanding results above and beyond the call of duty.", and was three times awarded the Purple Heart, for wounds received in battle with a hostile force.

If he had lived in another time, he would have been the same. He had an honesty about him that most people don't feel comfortable with anymore.

In the middle ages, he would have been a knight. Had he lived in the 1800's, certainly he would have rode the west, camping out 'neath the stars and still being his own man. He never twirled a rope, but still he was a cowboy...living life on his terms, speaking the truth, no matter the consequences....he kept his own counsel and was slow to call someone his friend...if he did though, he always was there for you....few knew his given name......fewer still would call him by it.....and even fewer could get away with it...I was one of those few that could....and I will forever miss my Friend Willis Webster Grube, better known to those that love him and those that he loved, as Bill.



Bill was cremated, as per his wishes. Our friend Cindy was handling most of the details and was told that she could get the same kind of vase that they used as an urn at a store cheaper than at the funeral home.

She bought this elaborately painted chinese style vase that was the only thing she found that would be close to an urn, but we both agreed that Bill would have hated it. On a whim we grabbed a cookie jar on the way to the funeral. It was a cookie jar that Bill was always trying to make off with because he loved it. It was a horse, in a sitting position, staring mournfully at the ground. For some reason Bill rellay loved that cookie jar.

At the cemetary, when they were transferring Bills reamins into the urn cindy had bought it occured to the workers that the urn wouldn't fit in the small crypt that was earmarked for his remains. Luckily, as I have said, we brought that cookie jar.

Bill rests today in Riverside Ca., in that small cubby in the wall at the Veterans cemetary, in his favorite cookie jar that is, most fittingly, a very sad looking horse.

This is a sad story of a man that got badly mauled by chimps that broke out of their cage. However I am also taking excerpts from a story in the Mercury News. (free subscription to view story)

Bold is from me and are key phrases that need to be pointed out.

SAN FRANCISCO - A man who was severely mauled by two chimpanzees at an animal sanctuary last week was quickly overwhelmed when the apes attacked, his wife said Monday.

"One was at his head, one was at his foot. But all that time ... he was trying to reason with them," a sobbing LaDonna Davis told "Good Morning America." "I couldn't do anything."

Did you read that??? He was trying to "reason" with them!!! 'Wild animals are attacking me, perhaps if I try to talk them out of it and show them what a great person I am they will stop.'

Experts in primate behavior told The Associated Press last week that male chimpanzees in the wild are intensely territorial and often are violent, sometimes killing chimps from neighboring groups. A typical chimp weighs between 120 and 150 pounds and is much stronger than a human.

Well DUH!!!

In her interview on Good Morning America the victims wife, LaDonna Davis said "You can't discriminate. We don't know about [their] background or childhood," and also "Maybe once [the chimp] got into it, he found it gratifying," when she was theorizing that the male chimp wanted to show dominance.

I want to point out that phrase. "You can't discriminate. We don't know about [their] background or childhood,".

Did you get that? Maybe these chimps had "bad childhoods" and THAT is why they were attacking her husband.

See? Now it all makes sense. Maybe if a wild animal attacks you and he suffered from a "bad childhood" you can TALK him out of trying to kill you.

Here another line from the story on ABCs webite that I just howled about. (remember, this is a sad story)

"Gloria Allred, the couple's attorney, who also appeared on "Good Morning America," called the chimp attack "ironic" because of the Davises' love for the animals."

First off, do you think that Gloria Allred, (ambulance chaser supreme IMO) was this couples attorney BEFORE the attack? Yeah.

Also, is "ironic" a good word here? Is it "ironic" if you love good whiskey and it gives you scirhossis? Or is it perhaps a very good possibility?

Allred the ambulance chaser went on to say "No one loves chimpanzees more than St. James Davis and LaDonna Davis, they spent their whole life loving Moe the chimp, who has been like their child."

Well maybe Moe didn't tell his cellmates what nice people the Davis' are huh? Or maybe Moe talked alot of shit about the Davis' and how they put him in this place and rarely came to see him and this was simply a case of "Monkey Vengeance". Too bad the death penalty was already handed down. That would have made for a riviting trial huh?

Maybe even better than the Peterson Show.

One last quite before I shoot off on a rant.

As fast as information moves these days this is old news, but I am tossing in my nickel on the Freedom Epidemic that is spreading like gossip in the ME.

As I noted here a few days ago George W. Bush unleashed that mean old Freedom Virus on the world, and it looks as if Ws secret biowar is working.

Everytime I read these stories I break out in a smile (another side effect BTW of the Freedom Virus; smiling at good news) and feel a deep satisfaction about the situation.

Not long ago we were being told, by Americans right here in our own country no less, that the Presidents war in Iraq was going to lead us down the road to destruction.
We were told we would fail...We didn't.
We were told the world would hate us...they already do...so what?
We were told we were only going to excacerbate the terrorist problem...we haven't.

Some will argue this point, saying that another attack will happen, and it very well may. In fact, I would be surprised if it didn't. But with the FV spreading these evil cretins that hate us will have less places to hide. There will be fewer people that are willing to die simply to kill a few of us. Be assured that when the next attack comes that those that hate America, both in and out of the country, will once again dance with joy and gloat and say "Haha, told you so", and we will pick up and fight even harder.

This is not going to be like WW1, WW2 or indeed, any war we have ever fought. There will be no defining moment that we can pinpoint as the end of the war on terrorism. We do have a starting date, but in reality the true starting date is much earlier than 9-11.

This is going to be a long process. The proof will be in the pudding, and as freedom spreads around the globe slowly terrorism will die out, although it may take a few decades....maybe even closer to a century.

But the recent and ongoing events in the ME are showing the Arab world that they too can be free. Free of dictators and despots. Free to build better countries. Free to think and say and do and even, to worship as they please. Just Free.

That line has a nice ring doesn't it?

What do women want in a man?

To be specific we are not talking about a relationship here, but rather what qualities in a man turn a woman on.

I have my answers, but so as not to taint the possible answers I get I will leave them for when I post an update to this post.

UPDATE: The conclusion of last nights coversation was women are attracted to a man that is strong, not necassarily in body but in character, intelligent, bold in manner, (not a wuss), that can make them laugh and with a bit of the devilish badboy just lurking under the surface. Body types were not factored in as tastes vary widely, (for instance my wife is a six foot tall, redheaded irish blooded vixen that is built like Barbie with a bigger rack, but she prefers short blonde guys (((Luckyluckyme:D))) while her sister prefers the tall athletic type).

And my comments about them. I believe that alot of people outside of the US read these stats and since they have no clue about life here they take them at face value without understanding the underlying situations that may explain why those stats are like that.

Violent crimes happen everywhere. This statement makes it sound liek we have jackbooted (I love that phrase) cops storming through the streets beating people down. Note though the word "threatened".

Isn't that like a .475% chance, statistically speaking, of being a victim? That sounds rather safe to me. That is less than one half of one percent. I realy like those odds.

Perhaps it is because they have a strong family values system that expects them to work and provide for their families. I wonder what the average net assets of families of asian ancestry is?

Maybe this is simply because they commit more crimes per capita than white folk?

According to my math, (which may be wrong because I suck at math, which is why I have an accountant), this equates to a .0632% chance of getting raped. That is an awfully low number, statiscally speaking.

What this report didn't take into account was the fact that alot of women work in lower paying fields. In fields where your pay is salary based, and not hourly, women make as much as men. In hourly fields women take more time off than men usually for child related issues. Go ahead and call me a sexist ass, it is true nonetheless.


"In addition, according to the report, child poverty was a serious problem. A story released from AP Washington on Oct. 12, 2004 said that about 20 million children lived in "low-income working families" -- with barely enough money to cover basic needs."

There is a difference between poverty and barely enough money to cover basic needs. Barely enough money to cover basic needs means that the needs are being met but just barely. And again, low-income working families are low income working families for a reason. Either they are young families or lack the skills or knowledget o get away from low income jobs.

"Children were also victims of sex crimes. Every year about 400,000 children in the US were forced to engage in prostitution or other sexual dealings on the streets."

This is simply wrong. That this happens anywhere is wrong. I don't know how they came to that number, (perhaps that called the child sex workers union), but perhaps attention needs to be focused on indonesia where it is a well known industry more than here, where it is destroyed whenever it is found.

I put forth that those deaths weren't unnatural. If you go against the US military they are going to start by bombing you, naturally, and bombs exploding on top of your house will naturally kill you.

Now I put forth this argument: Terrorists have impunged upon the sovereignty and safety AND FREEDOM of the US by attacking us, and those countries where terrorists are allowed to hide, those countries that support terrorism and those countries that make a mockery of freedom will be dealt with. The UN has proven to be impotent, especially where the safety and interests of the US are concerned, and we will NOT cede our SOVEREIGN RIGHTS of DEFENSE to placate a world full of chickenshit appeasers that would have us brought down to their level simply because of jealousy that our system of Freedom stands strong in the face of their system of socialism and aquiesence to government control. They are sheep. They are glad to be sheep. Sheep are naturally terrified of lions.

Yesterday the Supreme Court of the United States, (SCOTUS), decided in a 5-4 decision that it was unconstitutional to sentence minors to death. Now mind you, for those of you in france and other whiny countries I want to make something clear, we do NOT execute kids in the USA.....we do sentence them to death when, AND ONLY WHEN, they commit horrible crimes....usually MURDER!!!!

Basically kids just got handed a license to kill. Yes they will still go to jail, but now they will live there, at our expense, until they die. Usually if you draw the death penalty you have done something so heinous that life in prison without the possibility of parole is the next sentence down.


But then you socialist wienies out there probably hate the death penalty too. (funny aside here, how come the same people that fight FOR abortion, the killing of a very innocent child, are also the ones that will fight to keep some murdering piece of garbage alive, and at our expense too?)
Anyway, the point of this rant is NOT to point out the stupidity of what the SCOTUS did, but rather to take issue with what I have been hearing, and point out some very scary facts to the people on my side of the street.

I have been hearing that alot of the world is applauding this decision. I have heard soundbites on the radio from people overseas, (don't ask me about it further, I was driving and couldn't write the info down) saying how well the SCOTUS did by following international law. I keep hearing about binding decisions from The International Court of Justice. I keep hearing all of this nonsense spewing from my radio, my tv, and seeing it on my computer screen and I think alot of you need a small piece of info.

SCOTUS is WRONG!!!

International Law should only apply on the open ocean. The laws of this land should be based on our founding documents. Making law here in the good ol' US should be based on what is written in the Constitution and the Bill Of Rights. Basing our laws on international laws and/or the UN charter is wrong, evil, against the sovereign standing of this nation and most likely a case could even be made that it is against the Constitution.

It is, quite simply, a bold abuse of power by the justices and undermines this country, taking us one step closer to a one world government and a world where the ICJ has jurisdiction over everyone on the planet.

That sounds far fetched doesn't it?

OK, hear me out.

This document here that deals with the jurisdiction, admissibility and applicable laws for the International Criminal Court (ICC) states the following:

1. The jurisdiction of the Court shall be limited to the most serious crimes of concern to the international community as a whole. The Court has jurisdiction in accordance with this Statute with respect to the following crimes:

(a) The crime of genocide;
(b) Crimes against humanity;
(c) War crimes;
(d) The crime of aggression.

Got that? Good, remeber it, there will be a test shortly.

It goes on to say:

2. The Court shall exercise jurisdiction over the crime of aggression once a provision is adopted in accordance with articles 121 and 123 defining the crime and setting out the conditions under which the Court shall exercise jurisdiction with respect to this crime. Such a provision shall be consistent with the relevant provisions of the Charter of the United Nations.

O.K., here is your first test question.

What happens if the ICC decides that the crime here in the US that is now simple assault is now a "Crime of Aggression"?

Answer: You could go to jail for a bar brawl or a spat with a neighbor. It gets much worse.

It goes on to say, in article six, the bit about genocide:

For the purpose of this Statute, "genocide" means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:

(a) Killing members of the group;
(b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
(c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
(e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

Next test question (a two parter):

How does this apply to current and relatively recent legislation here in the U.S.?
What laws already apply here in the U.S. that could be construed to fall under these sections thereby giving jurisdiction over common street thugs here in the US over to the ICC, where the protections of the Constitution and Bill of Rights would not apply?

Answers: First answer is this already is being enforced here in the US by hate crime legislation. This section is basically hate crime legislation, and could be used to prosecute someone that gets in a fight with someone of another color, religion or sexual persuasion.

The second answer: See Above Answer

Let's move onto Section Seven shall we?

Section seven covers "Crimes Against Humanity":

1. For the purpose of this Statute, "crime against humanity" means any of the following acts when committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, with knowledge of the attack:

(a) Murder;
(b) Extermination;
(c) Enslavement;
(d) Deportation or forcible transfer of population;
(e) Imprisonment or other severe deprivation of physical liberty in violation of fundamental rules of international law;
(f) Torture;
(g) Rape, sexual slavery, enforced prostitution, forced pregnancy, enforced sterilization, or any other form of sexual violence of comparable gravity;
(h) Persecution against any identifiable group or collectivity on political, racial, national, ethnic, cultural, religious, gender as defined in paragraph 3, or other grounds that are universally recognized as impermissible under international law, in connection with any act referred to in this paragraph or any crime within the jurisdiction of the Court;
(i) Enforced disappearance of persons;
(j) The crime of apartheid;
(k) Other inhumane acts of a similar character intentionally causing great suffering, or serious injury to body or to mental or physical health.

Now at first glance this seems to only apply to government entities. But with a few deft twists of a legal eagles pen this could well apply to you.

Here's how: Above it states "...when committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population, with knowledge of the attack:"

Now let us suppose that you someone is a murderer or rapist. I don't want those people running around either, but if they are say, a serial killer, or a serial rapist, does that not fall into the catagory of "systematic attack"?

I dont' want to hand jurisdiction of even our worst criminals to the ICC.

Below are paragraphs that outline the rules directly above and expand on defintitions of these terms. Simply because these expanded definitions are here, and sound as if only government can be accused of them, does not mean you or I are safe. I will comment after each one to show you what I mean.



2. For the purpose of paragraph 1:
(a) "Attack directed against any civilian population" means a course of conduct involving the multiple commission of acts referred to in paragraph 1 against any civilian population, pursuant to or in furtherance of a State or organizational policy to commit such attack;

Quick comment on this one: Does that last part, "...or organizational policy to commit such attack" sound like it could apply to a street gang or perhaps the KKK of old?

(b) "Extermination" includes the intentional infliction of conditions of life, inter alia the deprivation of access to food and medicine, calculated to bring about the destruction of part of a population;

Souns very much like mandated feeding and healthcare of all doesn't it? In fact the case could be made for us to sit around and demand food and healthcare and refuse to work under threat to our governing officials of prosecution by the ICC.

(c) "Enslavement" means the exercise of any or all of the powers attaching to the right of ownership over a person and includes the exercise of such power in the course of trafficking in persons, in particular women and children;

See? Now I am reading this to expand on the paragraph above. If we refuse to work and threaten our elected officials with ICC intervention, we can scream slavery if they try to make us work. (I am seeing the inherent flaws in a socialist world run by the UN, are you?)

(d) "Deportation or forcible transfer of population" means forced displacement of the persons concerned by expulsion or other coercive acts from the area in which they are lawfully present, without grounds permitted under international law;

Big problem here. That last part, "under international law". If they create an international law that says there is no such thing as illegal imigration borders are useless. Imagine the population here then.

(e) "Torture" means the intentional infliction of severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, upon a person in the custody or under the control of the accused; except that torture shall not include pain or suffering arising only from, inherent in or incidental to, lawful sanctions;

One phrase here that keeps this in the realm of ICC jursidiction for you and I: "under the control of the accused". In other words, a kidnapper tortures their victim. We have already seen how that person can fall under the jurisdiction of the ICC, now they are also tried for torture.

(f) "Forced pregnancy" means the unlawful confinement of a woman forcibly made pregnant, with the intent of affecting the ethnic composition of any population or carrying out other grave violations of international law. This definition shall not in any way be interpreted as affecting national laws relating to pregnancy;

This is, so far, the only one that I have found no fault with so far. Probably because I have has so little experience with this subject. Now that I think about this one, is this a problem somewhere?

(g) "Persecution" means the intentional and severe deprivation of fundamental rights contrary to international law by reason of the identity of the group or collectivity;

Right now, today, don't you think Farrakhan would be happy to argue this case against the US in defense of "african-americans"?

(h) "The crime of apartheid" means inhumane acts of a character similar to those referred to in paragraph 1, committed in the context of an institutionalized regime of systematic oppression and domination by one racial group over any other racial group or groups and committed with the intention of maintaining that regime;

Again, Farrakhans dream law.

(i) "Enforced disappearance of persons" means the arrest, detention or abduction of persons by, or with the authorization, support or acquiescence of, a State or a political organization, followed by a refusal to acknowledge that deprivation of freedom or to give information on the fate or whereabouts of those persons, with the intention of removing them from the protection of the law for a prolonged period of time.

It has been argued that this is exactly what W is doing with terrorist suspects.

3. For the purpose of this Statute, it is understood that the term "gender" refers to the two sexes, male and female, within the context of society. The term "gender" does not indicate any meaning different from the above.

Does "gender" have another meaning I am not aware of?

At this point I am going to leave the rest of the document to you, dear readers, and to you socialist sycophants that still believe that W waged an "Illegal" war.

There was nothing illegal about that war. The UN does NOT tell the US when to act in her defense.
